When reading a book, do you do the exercises? Why or why not?

I do, otherwise what's the point?
If I'm lazy I'd do odd numbered ones or something to reduce the workload.

they are literally the only important part
do you expect to read a whole ass bloated book and internalize all that shit without ever doing something with the new knowledge you just acquired and wouldn't otherwise retain?
you can skip an exercise and come back to it later if you are stuck, besides the most retarded thing is when a book has more quiz-type of questions instead of actual exercises and projects/labs
