The liquid glass in the current iOS 26.0 is nothing like the original demo. It's way more focused on "fluid motion" than transparency, in fact if you have reduced transparency on, which I'm pretty sure most people already do to kill ugly top/bottom gradients in various apps, you can barely even tell that glass is what they were going for. I gotta say I really like the new icons doe. The regular ones, not the transparent ones. That does invoke an almost stained glass look, very unusually tasteful for a 2025 company.

The MacRumors forums are still undecided, arguing for and against different merits of the design as it gets updated with every beta. That's who I'd trust since it's the only Apple focused website that isn't full of sycophants and doesn't delete any negative comments about the company.
But also remember that Apple has changed tons of elements in the Liquid Ass design since it was announced. Transparencies, opacities, sizes, colors have all been adjusted as people keep yelling at them. So what people complained about months ago may no longer apply. And there might be new shit they fucked up.

In 2025 "Android" mostly means Samsung in most markets. Others exist but are mostly only sold in China. And samsung doesn't have any design principles besides copying apple. Even the website is a carbon copy. The "ai button" effect is a carbon copy. And the things that aren't copies are worse, like everything about oneUI 7.
