Should I connect the 4-pin power cable to the CPU slot as well as the 8-pin even if it doesn't need that much power?
I'm wondering if it's similar to GPUs, where you want to use two separate 8-pin cables rather than the daisy chain, where you spread the load over more cables.

Any of you guys had something like pic related?
When I reboot my computer (only after sleep) it randomly complains that the memory has been swapped.
Also, it never happens when powering off/on. Only on reboot.

I've contacted MSI and they told me there should be a serial number there. Do you guys believe it might be because of that, or is it common for DIMMs to not report a serial number?

almost all AIO are using the same patents and parts, regardless of brand. most differences are fan size, fan number, rad size, white/black, RGB, and cpu block screen/shape.
that said usually you buy the largest radiator/aio that your case can fit on the top or in the front.
(you want the AIO rad to be higher than the cpu block)

How can i rule out that my GPU is cause of stutters/frametime spikes?

I have 5070ti and im having stutters, spikes in frametime which are causing freezes.

I already ran fumark 1080p and the max usage was between 96-97%

i just want to be 100% sure to rule out that gpu ain't problem. so far i think that there is an issue with my mobo b850 aorues elite wifi7 - there are lots of info regarding latency/stability issues on these boards, but i have last day in gpu return window so i got to be sure.

If you've played 1 CS variant you've played them all to an extent, i preferred CS:S but im biased. The modded servers and the super-powers and hero classes were the foundation for games like Overwatch, that also took inspiration from TF2 to be fair. Except none of them came remotely close to how much fun the WC3RPG servers were.

I'm still mad nobodies ever ported the servers/mods over to CS:GO/CS2.

Furmark isn't a realistic workload. If you have something like 3dmark, or can run an in-game benchmark, you can better gauge performance issues related to actual gaming. But you're still going to have trouble nailing down exactly what's causing a given issue unless you can start swapping out components.
Make sure everything is plugged in correctly, as well. For some reason lots of people have issues with this.

As far as I'm aware the conflagrations stem from not plugging the connector in all the way. So it shouldn't matter. Plus everything now has the revised connector with the longer pins, so it should be even less of an issue.

Question:
I have a corsair 4000d airflow with a 7700x and a 6700xt.

Problem is I have outgrown the case and I need to upgrade. I need space for 6 x 3.5" drives, and one 5.25" drive.
Considering:
-phanteks enthoo pro
-define 7 XL
How would the thermals be on these compared to the 4000D?

Or if anyone has a better idea for a suitable case.

On one hand you basically aren't gonna be wanting for performance since your ceiling is going to have extravagant amounts of headroom from the lower resolution. On the other hand it depends on how sensitive you are to pixel clarity/density for detail, and whether you already prefer anti-aliasing and upscaling to cover for any pixel shimmer and flaws at lower resolution stuff. If you're happy as a clam right now it isn't really a priority certainly, a lot of people genuinely consider highly resolutions a bit of a performance-eating meme, but I can't really judge for your eyes when mine are so fucked up as is. I suppose that it might be excessively cautious. I don't know. I just don't want to screw anything up because it's my first time building a PC.

Ray Tracing broke everything. UE5 came along and fucked things way way way worse. Devs love it because it saves them time and is easy to use. Players and hardware hate it because it runs like total shit. The hardware is not strong enough to run this shit not in real time, so we get upscaling and fake frames.

The issue i had with the corsair ram was twofold. It barely ran the rated xmp and with almost zero undervolting headroom at that. It also couldnt be overvolted too far from 1.4v because it got unstable really quickly. i think they have issues with binning good a-die or they didnt validate their ram with any voltage/stability margin, at least on that one kit I had

Anyway I've only tried dual rank 32gb 6000cl30 sticks on asrock and asus and they've both been fine. Not sure about gigabyte or msi. But if you've been through many combinations of boards and ram, maybe the issue is with your cpu's memory controller

>isn't supported on their site and it's like a massive coinflip
The good thing with 6000cl30 ram is that it can only be one of two die types, hynix 16gbit m-die or hynix 16gbit a-die so its alright if the ram part number isn't on the QVL if it has this expo/xmp spec.

A link to some webpage showing how to reconnect case fans would be appreciated. Like, which connectors go where, how many each fan needs, etc. If that's even something that's standardized.
I disconnected some to make room and forgot to take a "before" picture.

The case came pre-installed with all nine of the standoffs my board needed in the right positions.
However, I only screwed screws into eight of the nine, because my screwdriver isn't magnetic, so I didn't feel confident and being able to get the last one. Will I still be okay without that last one screwed in? The board feels physically stable without it.

Sorry, I actually meant the cables that connect the fans to one another. The case fans came pre-wired together from the manufacturer, but I had to move one and take out another altogether from the little daisy chain of fans they had set up.
And I can't just plug everything back together until there are no more things left to plug, because now there's one fewer fan in the loop.

This probably isn't a very helpful picture.

I guess I should start connecting everything else that isn't a fan connection, just to reduce the number of options.

The label on the bag that came with my graphics card (Gigabyte 5070ti) is very insistant that I only use this black 12v-to-double-PCIe cable with it.
But my PSU came with its own yellow 12v cable and has a dedicated 12v socket, which, if I used it, would leave the other sockets open for other things.

How crucial is it really that I use only Gigabyte's favorite cable and no one else's?

I had a quick skim over a few videos and posts of people suggesting to undervolt x3d chips. In many instances performance actually slightly increases and temperatures are significantly lower. But are there any actual downsides to this? Surely there's some caveat like reduced stability or long-term "wear and tear", else AMD would have them run undervolted from the factory.

CPU might not run that speed @ the optimal 1:1 UCLK:MEMCLK mode.
If the above mode isn't possible, downclock the memory speed to to 6000MT/s and change the primary timing to something generic for that speed, like tCAS 30 - tRCD 40 - tRP 40 or 30-38-38 (tRAS can stay @ auto).

>reduced stability
This is a real issue, depending on your workload.
Don't copy people's -30/-20 all core CO. Some cores may run unstable at those levels.

>long-term "wear and tear"
You're instructing the CPU to request less voltage than the factory spec, which improves longevity.
