Americans get a payout if they purchased RAM because apparently they are too retarded to realise they need to turn on XMP in the BIOS in order to achieve the rated speed.

Why is this allowed?

Why is this limited to America only

I bought 2666 sticks and just set them to 3600.

I live in Canada but I see in their submission page that you can get paid directly through Paypal. If I use a fake address, you think it will be a problem? It says no proof of purchase required, but I've actually bought 2 kits

Because memory manufacturers (by which I mean chinks who attack packages made by one of three companies to pieces of copper) don't include instructions for achieving the rated speeds, and then they void your warranty if you do achieve them. This isn't a very nuanced case. They want to have their cake and eat it too. And they probably would have gotten away with it if they would have just used the magic words "up to" which all other advertisers learned to do 150 years ago.

Why wouldn't it be? The lawsuit was brought up in an American court. Do you want American courts to be deciding these things for other countries?

Okay but how much will the claim be? If it's like 20 bucks it's not worth my time.

have you seen some of the ramkit expo/xmp default timings lately? they are god awful. they will do anything to make ryzens crappy imc boot including high trfc + low trefi.

obviously it isn't allowed, and now corsair are paying for it. the problem comes back to governments being slow to act, or not acting at all, to protect citizens against predatory and shitty practices.

Yes, only if a Republican judge is deciding.

Most people have no comprehension of just how thoroughly true this is. The vast majority of the time someone says "X should be illegal" it actually already is, but it's never been enforced in the history of the law existing. And 99% of startup pitches are just rebranded ways to dodge regulations or do fraud.

yeah, it's pretty fucking bad state of affairs. in my glorious backwater of australia we had businesses that would setup shop, rip people off/not pay wages/not pay tax/creditors etc. and then disappear when administrators, creditors and the tax man arrive to take everything they own. soon after they'd reappear under a new business name/number and start again. the government only took action against this practice 5 years ago when it has been happening for many decades. useless cunts.

Even if you know how to enable it, XMP usually doesn't work with 4 sticks or any mismatched set, and even with 2 identical sticks you sometimes have to dial the clock speed down a peg or two for the system to work properly. Fuck all that shit, in the pre-XMP era you bought a stick and it just worked at the rated speed.

Class action lawsuits only benefit lawfirms, never the group of plantiffs. Most of the time they ask you for social security, address, and other PII in order to get a measly $10 payout.

Currently doing this now with mixed kits on Zen 2.
3200 CL16 XMP kit with a 3600 CL18 XMP.
If I match timings for all kits manually at 3600 CL18, everything runs but I notice WHEA errors appear. So 3200 CL16 works fine. Also mobo didn't even apply the correct tRFC timings anyways when I was just using the 3200 kit...which is ridiculous.

It can be worth 73 cents I’m filling out the paperwork. Will it be more than the $30 Facebook Privacy Settlement?

I’m making bank this year on settlements. Might crack $100 at this rate.

We were getting calls every day at 5pm from a telemarketer and I repeatedly submitted inquires to the donotcall.gov site. That started a paper trail that I think lead to the big payout.

I bought my Corsair kit in 2017. My computer would fail POST after enabling XMP, but I managed to achieve a similar true latency to the one from the XMP profile through a manual OC.

Courts are abused by retards all the time. Someone sued Tesla because a driver put their foot on the pedal and floored their car directly causing an accident. And they blamed Tesla's self driving.

Grifting culture is human culture. In China there are professional victims where they throw themselves on a car, pretending to be hurt and then have hired actors take pictures/videos/etc to sue them in court.

How much is the payout? $2 ??
Anonymous No.106593210 [Report]
>>106592994
5.5 million usd total
no proof of purchase required for up to 5 units (so there will be lots of fake claims)
you will only get $5.5 assuming 1 million tards are claiming it

>Someone sued Tesla because a driver put their foot on the pedal and floored their car directly causing an accident.
No, they sued Tesla because Autopilot was engaged and the car killed their relatives despite (and this was the crucial part) Musk telling the driver of the car that Autopilot works and is safe to use in those conditions.
The car ignored a STOP sign and ran into people at high speed, its driver wasn't even looking at the road because Musk told him that it's safe to do so.
Musk has done that repeatedly in order to boost Tesla share price. He can't just reap the benefit when he tells lies – he must also face the consequences of other retards believing those lies, as it happened in that case.

Driver put the foot on the pedal. Humans always over ride automation.

You having no functioning brain and pretending this has any merit shows your low IQ.
