It really is the camera is very capable. I dont know how good your current chink phone is though..

I have an s23u and its very wild how capable the camera is. I am able to use the phones cameras for a wide variety of tasks.

One UI 8 will lock the bootloader permanently. Get a OnePlus 13 instead.

They've already been locked for years on American models.

>Also about cameras

Long distance shooting is about as capable as you'd expect for any cell phone. It does as good as it can but its ultimately limited by the sensor size.

What this thing does really well is close up shooting. You can zoom in very far and do crazy macro shots with it. Here is a picture i took applying glue to the tip of an iem

Heres a long distance shot on s23u. A busy day near the statue of liberty. Photo taken with automatic camera settings.. no pro or raw mode used.

Last one s23u. Statue of liberty from same distance but maximum zoom. It really zooms

Probably just depends on the price, my S24U is still going strong and i see no reason to replace it anytime soon.

You guys are afraid of buying a 1 year old phone while I'm here planning on using my S21 Ultra still for like 4-5 years.

Btw don't get too hyped up about the camera, it's still a smeary AI mess, a toy next to any real camera.

My S5, Note8, and Note20 are all still working fine.

It's 4 years old already. Entirely scratchless, battery lasts 2 days, runs everything perfectly fine. It'll last another 4 easily.

Your old phones dont count. When you get a Samsung you grow a disdain for old tech. The samsung user who buys a flagahip becomes a power user. You have one or two years max before youre going out to get the newer one.

I went S5, Note8, Note20 Ultra, S24 Ultra, and i'll likely be with this for at least another two years, though could be longer.

why did they make the telephoto lens shorter? I will stick to S23U 10x zoom
Anonymous No.106588407 [Report]

Because your S23U has a 10MP 3x and a 10MP 10x.

Meaning for 4x through 9x zoom levels, you're digitally zooming on a 10MP sensor.

On the S24U you have a 10MP 3x and a 50MP 5x, this means at 4x you're still doing a digital zoom on 10MP, but at 6-9x you're now doing digital zoom on 50MP (and through a 5x optical lens instead of a 3x) giving higher image quality than the S23U.

So the S24U sacrifices some minor zoom quality at the high end, for MUCH better zoom quality at the lower end, and since MOST people are only zooming in between 1-10x, the S24U should beat out the S23U in every zoom range, except for 10x.

S22 is where it's at, the curved screen with the flat edges is such a cool and iconic combination.

It's good but it may be uncomfortable for you. I hated the square corners
