that's nice
writing an OS isn't that hard; many undergraduate CS students do it in the course of completing their degree as a course project
the difficult parts are preemptive multitasking, self-hosting, driver support, and efficiency/performance
Mach/HURD has been in development for 40 years and is still unusable for real-world applications

Software rendering is the only valid form of rendering and we should have stuck with that. I'll write a hand-optimized triangle rasterized over heaps of mindnumbing Vulkan boilerplate any day.
