youtube is shadowbanning people's accounts

if you used an adblock they now fucking block you from using youtube's comments section of viewing the view section or being able to see the channel of the video

even if you disable all plugins, your account is blacklisted

WTF is this petty jeetness

i'd say if anything it's due to you using sponsorblock but that's funny because that doesn't really lose them money it loses the creators money. but i bring that up because that hasnt been applied to me yet(A/B testing maybe), and i dont use sponsorblock.

For now at least. But the older videos not showing up thing did not get fixed.

>>106592895
The comments thing doesn't affect everyone. Go to a channel that has videos older than 2 or 3 years and try scrolling down through their videos page, see if you can reach the real end (rather than it just stopping without showing you all the videos older than 2-3 years).

this is an entirely separate but interesting issue as well. its them just saving on data costs by only keeping the top/relevant stuff in the cache i guess.
but this has been happening for years, on google search too. the fact that you cant really go past page 20 (50 is the top limit i think), while they like to show you in the meta data
>11,500,000 results for this query!
this is basically a data saving thing though, because you can still find what you were looking for (ideally) you just need to define the search terms better instead of going into page 51-60

it sucks that they are doing it, but they are very money hungry and in the age of AI the more profit they can rake in from their already parasitical companies
>no customer service wagies
>all of their services revolve around data coming into them, and playing with it
>they dont need to create much
the better it means they can compete in the long run against someone like apple who has huge hardware costs already from their consumer business.

On YouTube at least, it has been a recurring issue, but not a "feature". Meaning that normally you could scroll down to a channel's last video (first video chronologically speaking) or from it if you sorted by Oldest. But on some days it would bug out and keep showing you the same video thumbnails over and over if you did that, instead of "actually" scrolling.

Google Search on the other hand does some really weird stuff, I've had it show me 10+ page numbers then reduce them to 4 when I clicked on the second page.

yeah thats due to DMCA shits, but cant really blame them for that. like blocking all the movie sites that you can find on yandex, thats middlemen making them cripple it.

I have no idea what we'll do should Yandex surrender to DMCA stuff as well. Maybe some obscure search engine will take its place, but right now Yandex is the only thing that works for that as well as image search (even if that was neutered as well, the competition is still worse somehow).

if you wanna write something up, their API was quite generous if you loaded like 50 channels in a single call
but that requires you use an email, and they might've gotten stingier in 4-5 years last I tried
otherwise, every channel has a xml feed, limited to their latest 15 videos
