Okay I found what I consider to be a reputable source (Forbes) talking about this Israeli software on Samsung phones. Apparently it's an app called AppCloud that comes pre-installed. You can't uninstall AppCloud because it's part of the system, but you can disable it.

Personally, i think the edge is better in the software department if you dont care about the AI stuff (even though samsung AI is pretty on-par with google desu). I was so hyped about the Pixel 10. Qi2 with magnet at last, better battery efficiency, no custom vendor shit other than the typical Google stuff that can be disabled and/or just installing GrapheneOS, but the huge price, the underpowered specs, and the recent moves by Google trying to erect their own Apple-like walled garden what with delaying the AOSP release and the whole "eventually only apps by verified devs can run" really soured me on the Pixels. Is there any other good choice out there or should I wait, either for better models to release or for price drops?

The air is legit a iPhone 16e but thin and 1 less speaker. The 19”pro” chip in a air is basically just a 19 chip because when I was syncing my stuff the bump got warm so I know it’s throttling down to normal 19 chip doing any sort of heavy stuff

I went with the air from a iPhone 13 because I’m old and only use my phone for basic texts, doom scrolling TikTok, checking emails and when I take pictures I just point and shoot. I ordered the 17 pro first for long term battery life but didn’t want to wait a month so switched to the air because I don’t care about shooting RAW pic/vids or playing gaymen. The battery life for the air is good enough and will last me all day for my usage, but it being so thin and apple using junk batteries I don’t know how it will hold up after 2-3 years health wise since I don’t upgrade phone until it’s 3-4 years in and usually when the battery is 70-75% health (my 13 was a 72)
To me the pro line has turned into nothing more than a camera/video content creator marketing tool and all they showcase is RAW and 4k abilities and anybody doing that would have to shell out apple goybuxs for a 512/1T storage because that will eat thru the default 256gb limit very very quickly

I think apple phones are great if you plan on using the phone long term. I’ve had my phone 4 years now and it hasn’t slowed down at all, does 90% of everything current phones can do and I can probably be fine with it for another 2-3 years if I swap the battery.

Battery is still ok. It still lasts me the day even though I filled it with tons of background apps. Mainly Syncthing and KDEConnect.
The annoying part with the Pixel 7 is that to change the battery you need to remove the entire screen. They seem to have fixed that with the Pixel 10; you just need to pry open the back which is only slightly more inconvenient than how we all used to change batteries on old cellphones.

Shouldn't be. Make sure you use the telephoto camera. Disable auto lens switching via Camera Assistant. At 10x the S25U shpuld be better, since it does a quarter sensor crop and has 12.5MPx to work with. At the same lenght, the S22U only has 10MPx, and a darker lens with a worse sensor behind.
