That's like saying a controller has more accurate aiming than a mouse.
trackpad/mouse: Move the hand to the destination. This is a 1 to 1 mapping and you can do this instantly if you want.
controller/trackpoint: You can't just input the destination. Instead, you need to think "in which direction is the destination?" and input the angle. This angle won't be accurate. The movement is also not instant. So next question is "how fast do I want to move the cursor?". So on top of the direction, you input a move speed. Then you need to think "for how long do I need to input this?" the answer is: You need to divide the distance by the entered speed, and then the result is for example "need to hold it for 350 milliseconds". This shit is never accurate, that's why controllers have aim assist in games, while mouse and trackpad do not.
