I'm confused by your post because it seems to imply google and microsoft aren't evil or retarded.

Apple
>forced to add sideloading
>now have emulators
>making cheap laptops and phones now
Mrta:
>paving the way for smart glasses and VR headsets
Windows:
>Need to link to your online account Io use windows 11
>everything gets saved the cloud by default unless you're willing to jump through hoops
>windows folding phone was discontinued after 2 generations because they're too retarded to make a foldable phone that has a continuous screen
Android:

When the fuck has Microsoft ever been innovative? Their approach from the very start has been to take a business viewpoint in an, up to that point, autist or old suit dominated space, and use that to crush all the losers by reaching a much larger market of programs and thereby consumers. Every "innovation" commonly associated with Microsoft was done by someone else first, which they simply stole, or otherwise bought out an actually innovative company, usually after said company already reached widespread success. Microsoft is the definition of stagnation, they will only ever be as innovative as their competitors are, ensuring that any company with even the slightest shot at innovation is immediately crushed and assimilated.

>What the hell is going on in the tech world?
Simple.
Remember how Intel had a 4 core max phase because AMD flopped back then and then suddenly Ryzen happened and they were forced to add more cores? It's the same here, Apple and the others are forced to innovate to make money because nobody wanted to buy their stuff, therefore they had to make M1, M2 chips and so on.
Microsoft, on the other hand, is making so much money they aren't forced to make new stuff, just tighten the hold on the existing user base.

If Google is "old" and "reliable" then Facebook certainly is (it's not) and I refuse to call them stupid names like "Alphabet" and "Meta"

It seems us humans need aliens to come in and modify our DNA to make us even smarter, as I think we're hitting the limits of human ingenuity.

With tech these days I can't really think what else I would want to improve. Would a 16k TV or a RTX 9090 make me happier? I guess so, but diminishing returns are hitting us hard. I know I would never install an "eyePhone" so body mods from Cyberpunk are out. Any ideas for tech that doesn't exist but should? Robot servants would cool!

It is actually the opposite. People (like you) think people are smart. In reality 99% of the population (especially in Europe and NA) is as dumb as a brick. Nobody would keep importing Indians and Chinese if whites had a single braincell.

Coincidentally the companies being picked up by Indians seem to do a lot better than when they were under Anglo managment. Your personal opinion here is quite irrelevant the data doesnt lie.

You'd think so and it might work for a little while but once the novelty wore off and you got used to having slightly more pixels on your TV and being able to render video games slightly quicker that wouldn't apply anymore. Moore's law doesn't apply anymore because it was a statistical inference in the first place and not an actual law. Researchers are doing their best but it's probably hard to get motivated about your job when you know it's just going to be used for consume product reasons.

People saw logistic growth and got very excited and confused it for exponential growth and started buying Intel and Nvidia stocks because the curves look very similar at first but everything has a carrying capacity eventually and they're going to dump those same stocks once it becomes obvious that AI is a bubble and a bad investment and a marketing buzzword.

This happens every time there's a breakthrough, grifters will bandwagon on it and burn everything to the ground while they can.

Remember the days just before facebook was a thing? Those were happy days, everyone was full of optimism, portable technology was kicking off its feet, we had PSP, mp3 players etc for consumer electronics. Web was shit slow but every page had soul.

Then facebook became a thing, everyone used that and the rest of blogs, sites, myspace etc died out. Youtube became shit. Every forum started to call themselves a social media platform. portable devices became bulky iphone trash.

Now go back to 2018 before the AI boom. Once again things were stable, web3.0 slop was ruining searches but there was still some semblance of liberty. Then there came AI bullshit, AI moderation, laws changed thanks to AI, AI on search engines, theres talk of AI layoffs etc and now you see slop and AIs trying to sneak past moderator AIs.

One day this will stabilize, the AI scare will stop, you will generate your personal AI porn and have it as your therapist, you sill move on to some other shit and the world will be focused on the next breakthrough, you will see the world go to shit over it.

>Then facebook became a thing, everyone used that and the rest of blogs, sites, myspace etc died out.
That so much content that would've normally had its own dedicated forum is now locked behind Discord servers run by powertripping moderators and fandom.com wikis covered in ads with autoplaying videos and random streams in the background is a tragedy in itself. People shouldn't trust some random Silicon Valley company with hosting half the web because one day you'll wake up and it'll be gone forever without warning.

>Youtube became shit.
Youtube turned to trash the moment it was bought by Google and I wish it had a genuine competitor. They don't even care anymore, the first video uploaded to the site was "Me at the zoo" with some guy talking about elephant trunks and the most recent one was probably "Sad story but happy ending" AI-generated Sonic the Hedgehog torture porn and between the start of this sentence and the end of it twenty more have probably been uploaded.

I like the internet but the second people realised you could make a tiny amount of money by shoving obnoxious ads in people's faces and started using it as yet another tool to make giant corporations an extra 0.0001% profit it was basically over. As an example, you see streamers desparate for money whoring themselves out and pretending to be anime characters and writing little biographies for them because they know pretending to be an anime girl with animal ears specifically designed for mass appeal is more appealing to the audience than what they actually look like and doing sponsored streams for games nobody will buy and doing whatever they can for "engagement" (even if that means straight-up viewbotting to artificially push their stream higher, platforms don't care and won't do anything to stop it and probably even do it themselves) for a tiny sliver of ad revenue that the website they're on will take 90% of anyway.
