FAQ:
>How do I activate Windows?
HWID2 generates and registers a permanent legitimate license on MS's activation servers
github.com/massgravel/Microsoft-Activation-Scripts
Usage: paste this into Powershell, run.

>and Office?
Same link, select Ohook option
You can also use Office.com if your needs are very minimal
or try OnlyOffice/LibreOffice and set it to save in MSOffice file formats

What can cause Windows to have about 30 seconds of "black screen, but monitor on" before the login screen is visible? I've seen it happen on a few systems

In the case of my own, it happens with the exception of
- rebooting after a BSOD
- the next boot after a (big?) update
- As I've recently discovered, rebooting to the UEFI

If I keep using my w10 pro without any security updates only to play vidya on steam and shitpost on 4chan. can I be raped by a pajeet only because my current OS is connected to the internet or everything should be fine as long as you don't download any malware? Honest discussion question: What is the point of this besides adding more points of failure to Windows? It's not like they can make any real meaningful changes to the OS.

If you're downloading something like this I presume you're already more tech savy than the average person; why are you not just downloading a Linux distro, and possibly dual booting into an LTSC install if you need a native windows desktop for a game, or a specific program for work?

I as well, personally, have less trust in the security of the maintainers for something like this, versus a highly audited OS like Fedora, or Arch.
Anonymous No.106860776
>>106859741
What are you using your machine for? It's all relative if 4TB is a lot, and it matters less depending on the size of the drive, and it's flash type.

Are you compiling on the drive? Is your browser on that drive? Video editing? Those do a lot of writing.

Do you have a page file on that drive, and does your system have low memory storage amount? You might be using your swap a lot.

And then you run massgrave again to re-activate Windows because it will need another licence.

Anyone else had an issue with downloading Win 10 IoT enterprise LTSC from massgrave? I get to about half way through and then the download stops with the error "could not be saved because the source file could not be read".

I read on the github for their activation scripts that some ISPs/DNS block access to their domains, and to have DNS over HTTPS, but it's already enabled for me in Firefox. Following the link provided in the Cloudflare documentation to check if it's configured properly, reports it as being set up properly. Would setting it up within my Windows make a difference?

I believe I ran into the same issue a while back when I wanted to do a clean reinstall of Win 10, so I never got around to doing it.

Neither, delete programs from settings, and if you are tech savvy enough delete leftover icons on desktop, start menu, and loose files left in file explorer's popular locations like Documents/Pictures/Music/Videos/ProgramData/Program Files/Program Files (32Bit)/Users-AppData. And if you are super autistic you can open registry editor select find and search the name of the program you installed to delete all the entries. But realistically most of these range from a few KB to a few MB at best and you don't need to clean them up at all. I would never trust a third party program that works in a way where it just searches for everything containing specific keywords and deletes it automatically to be safe to use. Windows for example comes with mozilla or adobe registry entries and file explorer folders/files out of the box and you would delete those too by using a third party program to delete firefox or adobe reader or something. Keep in mind the OP is written by low IQ tinfoil hat schizoids, you really shouldn't be using it as a resource. You would learn more just by using official microsoft docs and sticking to built-in tools to take care of your pc maintenance.

Yes. Modern windows 11 for proper performance, and functioning features like auto-hdr, variable refresh rate, and utilization of CPU/GPU requires you to have a few things enabled and some disabled:
You should update to the latest gpu driver, make sure your windows is activated and there's no overlay popup for activation, make sure game mode and game bar are enabled and functioning, make sure your power profile is set to balanced, and make sure any startup apps you don't need are disabled, and any overlays like discord, amd, steam disabled. You should also disable virtual machine platform, and memory integrity.

/g/ has a culture of liking gnu and linux, it's pointless trying to go against the grain they'll just sperg out and call you a shill or be buttmad and derail the thread with pointless screeching. But linux really isn't that great in the desktop sense at least, it's way too flawed, and linus himself has admitted that he thinks desktop linux is kind of DOA as long as no one solves the issue with software, it's insane to have systems where the user can't reliably use binaries and is expected to rely on a maintainer to package shit for him, and linuxtards only keep fragmenting more and more, at least at one point there was a whitepill that Ubuntu LTS would be the one to target, all the major laptops did, it was recommended by chrome, firefox, steam, etc. Then retards sperged out and started wanting to fellate fedora, then community-memes like arch/debian, then weird ass meme distros like nix/void. There's no end to their autism and fighting, and it'll just guarantee nothing ever gets solved. The peace of mind you get on a GAC or LTSC build of Enterprise on Windows 10 or 11 is just unmatched, every software and hardware works while you get zero annoying nagging as long as you bother to spend like 30 seconds applying group policies from privacyguides or the OP anon's ones. Linux security is also nowhere close to modern windows, even though security in general is kind of a meme, but still if mentioned it literally never goes in linux's favour lol.

And at that point any image I save would be outdated as shit and there's no need to honestly do any prep, I can just do it manually and be done with it one saturday and two cups of coffee. Getting a clean enterprise iso with media creation tool, installing it with ethernet cable disconnected and a local account, applying group policy tweaks, restarting the computer, connecting the cable, grabbing all the updates, going on the web and grabbing amd drivers, newest c++ redist used by amd drivers if it needs updating, chrome, steam, jd2 and i'm already ready to go as I mostly get everything done inside chrome and all my vidya through steam/jd2, while my photos, music, videos are backed up on other HDDs. and as i'm downloading vidya or installing them from backup gog offline installers on other drives I go through the settings and make sure everything is nice and clean.

Fellas and Ladies, what's the most reliable software to clone your Windows drive into an image file and re-image it onto the drive.
I'm going to install two Linux partitions onto my laptop and would like to be able to just put it all back if I mess something up.
AND can it be done without physically taking the drive out of the machine?

I have an external drive on which I install programs and games and such, which I would like to work with both systems if possible. What's the best setup to have in this scenario?

unless you have latest intel cpu, w11 really offers no benefit.
i tried 11 as well but god damn it is sluggish, 10 is just snappier and everything happens the instant you click and menu items arent hidden behind million extra clicks like they are in 11

we could probably talk forever about edge cases like drivers etc. but just use 10 iot until everything drops support to it and switch to linux.

Boot manager and windows; /enum all actually lists recovery, but then why doesn't it set up customized oem stuff, and installs just plain system instead?

If that is what its doing when you boot into it then that is what your OEM has set as their recovery image. Not just the reset button in Windows settings, you need yo restart and enter the recovery image, usually you press F12, ESC or something while booting to bring up the menu and select the OEM recovery option from there.
