whats best way to fix choppy sound of pipewire-jack in renoise?
On debian wiki they suggest changing the quantum value, whatever that means:
pw-metadata -n settings 0 clock.force-quantum 2048
https://wiki.debian.org/PipeWire#choppy_audio_on_systems_with_high_load
Is there a way i can revert the change incase it fucks it up even more and end up sounding worse?

Not a fan of ableton, but when i was on windows i made a few songs on it when i was trying to decide which daw was right for me. Though this was around 2014, but i doubt the gui has changed that much, from what i remember i thought it was pretty clean and making a song was a straightforward process. I eventually settled on fl studio, which imoo is more of a clusterfuck gui, but to me it looked so pretty and felt very intuitive + all the vsts and synths they give you are top notch to me.

The same way you sell any music.
The plugins you use don't make any difference when it comes to that, unless you pirated that software, in which case you just need to avoid telling the internet which software you used.

I don't really know about that side of the business. You could try seeing what industry professionals have said about it on social media (includes YouTube and TikTok), talks at videogame conferences, interviews, etc.
Obviously the universal tip of sending them a message or finding them on forums and whatnot is always valid.
Having some kind of portfolio to showcase your work is also a no-brainer.
But something tells me you're a beginner, so you might want to get some skills and experience before trying to make money.
Maybe try posting on >>>/vg/agdg and see if anyone's interested.
Game devs often have events where they make little games in a certain amount of time and/or with a theme. Perhaps you can offer to make them a free soundtrack or something.

I dunno about customizing it, but it seems pretty alright so far. Like it better than Ardour anyway. Which I guess is the other main choice on Linux. Bitwig looks interesting but their pricing seems jewish. Don't know anything about the other options (LMMS, Carla or whatever, QTractor, which manages to look like shit despite being "native" since I use KDE, it's also frozen up and crashed within minutes pretty much every time I've tried it despite just fucking around not even doing anything real)

Also I mostly just wanted to bump the thread lol.

Dead thread...
Anyway. I've been trying to decipher the ultimate hmv/pmv sound for music.
Phonk has clearly on top recently, with house/edm and trap/hip hop being roughly tied for 2nd overall (though, edm/house was number 1 for a long time)
BUT I've been trying to decipher what inherently makes these genres appealing both for general listening and for pornographic purposes.
I made 19 house songs and uploaded one a week to youtube whilst presenting them as songs for use in hmvs/pmvs
Of the 19, these 4 songs got over 1k views on youtube in 4-8 months
https://voca.ro/13fDq6tolF0H
https://voca.ro/1gwQFNXd2KIg
https://voca.ro/15tDTELezuNF
https://voca.ro/1fAhoQzR4xOD
I developed a hypothesis that "rough" or "coarse" sounds seem to have a more positive response, and the results somewhat support this.
Out of 19 house songs produced, 5 had "rough" or "coarse" lead/main/well pronounced instruments, and 3 of those 5 got over 1k views.
However, if you notice, one of the songs linked doesn't have this, and that is the most popular at 2.7k views.
I also hypothesized at first that "bass-heavy" music, regardless of musical texture was what was more appealing, but out of 4 "bass-heavy" tracks, only 1 got over 1k views, which is the most popular track.
I wonder if 'le heckin youtube algorithm' impacted the results, considering the lowest viewed song with that "rough" sound is at 148 views and was uploaded 4 months ago, and the lowest viewed "bass-heavy" song is at 293 views and was uploaded 7 months ago.
The other 10 songs mainly focused on composition, seeing if note/key choices but lack of focus on being "bass-heavy" or "rough" or "coarse" textures as main elements in the songs impacted its popularity. The highest view count one of these tracks got was 912 in 5 months, and the lowest being 242 in 8 months.
I know it's retarded and autistic to care about this but it's interesting to me. Wonder if anyone else is mildly curious about this too.

Anyway, the reason why House, EDM and Phonk are popular with the general public is because they have obnoxious vocal hooks. That's it.
