Windows 10 was released over 10 years ago, it is completely reasonable for Microsoft to end support for a decade old OS.

>But muh hardware requirements!
None of the hardware requirements are a big ask and you know it?

For most people upgrading will not require new hardware as long as they have a computer that isn't from the stone age.

Considering they support fork of that system as Windows 11, I don't find your argument particularly convincing.

As much as I hate M$ and how badly they've been handling W11's AI bullshit, your argument is completely indefensible.
Nobody is forcing (You) to buy new hardware, since anything released after 2018 is perfectly compatible with W11.
You're throwing a tantrum just because your old AMD FX DDR3 trash can is now at the verge of obsolescence and you've done absolutely nothing to improve your rig over the past 10+ years.
If you don't have the resources to buy a cheap AM4 Mobo, two DDR4 ram sticks and a Zen1 Ryzen CPU, complaining about W10's EoL should be the LEAST of your worries.
Get your shit together and stop trying to rationalize your poor life choices.

there are two acceptable ways of using windows on your computer
>1: as a dedicated gaming machine
no personal data, no emails, nothing important logged in, basically a console device like a playstation or an xbox
>2: in a virtual machine
your main computer runs macos or linux and you have some software that either only runs on windows or has a better version with more features on windows
if you actually subject yourself to interact with microsoft windows in any other way you're basically a retarded nigger desu

they were informed is the thing, theres two reasons why it is as it is:
- people refuse to trash their perfectly functioning device (which by your definition is already stone age)
- people refuse to switch either out of protest or because of tough experiences with 11 (those who DID switch switched to linux)

i actually disagree, matter of fact, windows 11 offers a WORSE alternative to what 10 can already do

No, is not reasonable. If they don't want to support it then MS must lose all copyrights and must be forced to publish the source with a GPLv3 license.

It's a big ask to be left with no alternative, especially for old people or clueless normies. This causes them to throw perfectly usable hardware away to buy new garbage. The e-waste this is already causing is tremendous.

It fundamentally is.
Otherwise, people wouldn't buy faster cars, bigger houses, smart appliances, and other kinds of technological tools that made their lives easier
If your PC is responsible for a portion of your income (assuming you have a job in tech), then investing in better, faster parts is imperative if you want to perform better and grow as a professional

can you point out the exact sentence where I pledge my loyalty to M$ and their dogshit OS, or will you keep calling me names just because I pointed out how the only people who complain about "unsupported hardware" are brokies with unresolved life issues?
I have little to no simpathy for people had 10+ years to buy new parts and chose to do absolutely nothing to improve their PCs
You're no different than the entitled 7fags who think the world owes them a life-long support line just because they cannot afford a $300-400 AM4 rig that will perform 2x-3x better than whatever trash they've running in their mom's basement.

Proposing to throw away perfectly functional hardware because microshaft says so makes you a fucking consumerist faggot. Not a single time you asked yourself if these people want to "improve" anything,

it's not a matter of affording an upgrade or not. Get off whatever terminally online shithole you dwell on for the majority of your time and see how people will use whatever PC they've always used until it breaks. There's also no benefit in upgrading to Windows 11, all of the performance you'd gain from an upgrade will be wasted by the built-in spyware.

First, I wouldn't classify a 10+ year old mobo, CPU, and RAM stick as "perfectly functional" (it's probably a couple POSTs away from the scrapyard anyway)
Second, nobody is forcing you to upgrade to the dumpster fire that's W11 (ESU, 21H2 IoT LTSC and Linux Mint are right there if you REALLY need your dinosaur PC after W10's EoL)
You're fighting a war that only exists in your head, since anybody with a modicum of brain cells understands that they're not entitled to lifelong support/updates from a software vendor, just because they refuse to scrap a piece of hardware they bought a decade ago.

Microsoft are fucked because they know nobody wants Windows 11 and everyone is waiting for Windows 12. But they worked really hard to make Windows 11, so they're going to force everyone to use it before Windows 12 becomes available. Windows 12 should have been announced a couple of years ago, but we're not getting it until people adopt Windows 11, which just isn't going to happen. What if Windows 12 has unreasonable hardware requirements as well?
