my pc completely locked requiring a hard reboot up multiple times when trying to gen a wan2.2 video in comfy with a certain lora. i've made other videos but this one lora seems to have pushed it past the limit.

no senpai, you're not on that node and not on the nightly branch if you don't see the VAE and the tiling options. Uninstall your old node and install it again not through the comfy manager list, but use the link I provided (maybe minus thye tree/nightly part) and choose nightly as version. Otherwise just do it from cmdline and switch to the other branch using git itself, and for good measure install the requirements.

look, you either have software whose priorities will lean less with community interests but that will continue to be maintained forever because its devs are PAID to work on the project
or you get something like the a1111/forge crap that is stuck in limbo, often forked with each such successive forks getting abandoned in turn because their dev lost interest or don't feel like giving more of their free time which is comprehensible
personally I'll take some enshittification if it means the software I use will continue being developed and I can rely on it. ComfyUI having found monetization venues is not something to whine about.

If you're planning on upscaling and using tile controlnet, just get Q8. I've tested Q8 and BF16 on my 4090 and there's no quality difference, only a very slight modification of composition per seed. And BF16 will go slightly over 24GB upscaling with certain settings combined with a controlnet.

I know this probably isn't as much of a thing for video but the reason I always stuck with Forge is because its easier to do img2img and rapidly mask stuff with it. The ComfyUI workflow always seemed the opposite of Comfy, ironically, for how I tend to do AI images.

Being able to heavily automate your workflow is why I can't go back to forge, there was a bunch of shit I'd have to do by hand step by step in forge that's I can easily chain together with Comfy.

There's no swiss army knife model, so it's a useless poll. Illustrious for anime, Chroma for realism NSFW and not much else unless you train a LoRA on it, Qwen Image for image editing, etc. Flux was good with LoRA's, but Chroma is much more versatile if you train the same dataset on it.

If only Chroma didn't mess up anatomy and details... It would have been the definitive model (until chinks finally decided to release non-slopped models, that is), better than the SaaS API ones, even
