How do you deal with high security paranoia? I'm having troubles with installing anything and trust almost no software at all. On one had it helps me with securing my systems but on the other hand it prevents me froim doing things at all. There are a lot of hacking oriented /g/entoomen here, I thought some of you may have some thoughts to share.

As it should be. Read the code and only then compile what you want. If you run something, you must first sandbox it.
It's not like that's going to stop them from spying on you and hacking your tripcodes, as this would only fix the software installation issue, not the hardware one or being part of a gigantic surveillance network. There are hidden cameras running gentoo inside your walls.

Yesterday I tried to use tripcodes on /b/ and guess what? They're not there anymore. Of course hardware backdoors are there and my post-2008 Intel CPU has Management Engine which most probably is used by PRISM and there's not real way to get rid of it. AMD has PSP so no save there. But at least if I could secure myself from some simplier malware, not state/big corpo governed, then I'm still in for it. Security is a process, right?

That being said, you don't need to defend yourself against everything that can THEORETICALLY be made. You don't even need to defend yourself against everything that CAN be.
