The only thing that would make it obsolete would be the next model of iPhone. Apple are just that far ahead of the game.

That being said, Apple is also known for it's legendary post launch support. Apple often does software updates for 10+ year old products, for free.

Its a status symbol for retards. Its easy to differentiate the 17 from the rest and have bystanders notice thats its the NEW iphone, so its a more effective status symbol this time.

Honestly the iPhone Air is a better phone and I'm considering buying it. It's actually made of titanium in the frame, and doesn't have scratchgate. I'd miss my telephoto lens though, but I'm not really a camerafag.

That's what Apple would have you believe. It has nothing to do with the glass on the back, it's all about the "Plateau" on the Pro models. Using a padded MagSafe charger won't prevent your keys or loose change from marking the edges of the top of the Pros.

air is based af. legitimately handles drops and feels really nice caseless. Also isn't particularly slippery so not likely youll drop it. i dropped it on asphalt while juggling a few things trying to reassemble my keyfob after the guts spilled all over the parking lot while replacing the battery. Landed on the back with no cosmetic damage at all.
I use it all day and I never have battery issues, though i also don't game, use it as a boombox, or record video regularly, so ymmv.
imo it really is the sleeper model for people who do use their phone a lot but arent photographyfags or mobile gaymen. The thinness really makes it much more one-handable while still having a pretty large screen. Feels great in pocket even with sweatpants. Honestly haven't been this stoked about a phone in many years, and I really wasn't expecting to like it so thoroughly.
