this is the feared day when windows 10 supports ends

14th october

Extended Security Updates however bring 12 months of usage in EU.

But you need to create Microsoft account and sync your files into Microsoft cloud, otherwise, no continued update for Windows 10.

Last version of Win10 was released already in 2022. It is 22H2.

Here is what we now know of ESU. You need to log into Microsoft account every 33 days or they will close your account and you stop receiving security patch.

A 60 year old man explained it all in one video:

ESU is not free for USA, they must pay 33 euros a year to use it (38 USD)

Just install Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021, that version will continue to get updates until 2032.

Meh, if you legitimately obtain the setup.exe from a copy of 2021 ltsc, then the code supports using that instead of archive.org.
Running anything from archive.org can be problematic because people have been slipping malware into packages and submitting them as archived copies of stuff.

I can't be fucked to throw the massgrave source in so you can make that call yourself, remember that leaving windows unactivated will still receive updates.

Finally it doesn't seem to like the way the script just changes the version of Windows in registry, but it could be fine. I personally would say do regular backups and/or take a full disk image before installing patches.

people will just bitch and moan for a while, some will say that this time they're really really going to switch to linux this time, in the end 99% will move on to windows 11 like they did from 7 to 10
