SENDING CONNECTIONS TO MICROSOFT EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU OPEN A FILE ON YOUR COMPUTER

>Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (what nu-/g/ shills): 20 connections
>>Windows Server 2019 (what 2022-nu/g/ shilled): 32 connections
>Windows 7 Professional: 1 connection

>usecase for respecting privacy?
Enjoy sending telemetry to Microsoft only for your OS to get worse every time a new release comes out.
10 users are in the same bus as 7 users. Might as well downgrade to 7 once everything magically stops working on 10 despite working in the same environment prior, amirite?
10 does not magically become a privacy respecting, optimized OS after support is dropped. It is still a frankenstein combination of old native code and XAML bullshit among whatever other "frameworks" Microsoft plops onto their OSes now.

You've been doing the same exact thing with your computer you were doing a decade ago. Why upgrade if you aren't invested in AAA gayming??

I don’t particularly like things like Wine, the real question is not how to get Windows apps running on Linux, it’s how to achieve the same result without them.

Just installed mint a few hours ago. I used my beloved Windows 7 for years until I was forced to get 10, which as meh as it was, I held onto it until the bitter end because I knew that 11 was even more assfucked. And so here I am.
My current main task rn is trying to find ways to make things resemble W7 or W10, just for ease of use.

More or less, it already sort of does resemble Windows 7 or 10 in terms of layout, the panels, the file manager, not that big of a deal.

If you really want to make it resemble Windows 7 like aesthetically there’s themes for Mint Cinnamon (I assume you use this variant) but they’re pretty crap, I’d recommend aerothemeplasma which is what I use but it’s for KDE and it isn’t tested on anything Debian-based as far as I know.

I have ideas as well, but then you meet kids fresh out of school, that don't understand the concept of a filesystem and make no effort to understand it.
The first is the parent's and the teachers' fault, but the latter is something more fundamental rooted in the children themselves. And at that point, you start to wonder, if maybe it's simply a lost cause at this point.

I think that’s a normie thing, not exclusive to zoomers, normies aren’t known to be tech literate, let alone tech savvy
Anonymous No.106883349
I don’t know what generation you belong to (as far as I know late 90s still counts as zoomer) but I’m certain tech illiterate people exist there too. The real problem is corporates pandering to the generally inept, and the generally inept accept that with arms wide open, we gotta teach em to reject such things without making them learn what is a terminal given that normies rarely use an operating system for anything other than the internet.
Anonymous No.106883410 >>106883461 >>106885837
tl;dr if we as people wanna win against corporates we gotta win over normies to our side, not that difficult of a concept to grasp.

Another real problem is that people are just naturally dense so it isn’t a walk in the park, give normies obvious benefits of using libre over corpoware, like “it’s faster”, “you don’t get raped by forced updates” and avoid using buzzwords that repel normies like “it’s open-source” or “you can rice it”, they at best don’t care about that

Apple is for people who wanna waste way too much money on while great, very locked down hardware, and I say this as I use an iPhone. I say be wise with money and what you already have (even if said what you have is an Apple product). It’s interesting how you point out that Windows is better for offices while Linux combined with LibreOffice (people I know in real life, who are normies may I tell you, even dare recommend it) provide a more cost efficient (as with Windows and Microsoft Office you pay licensing unless you pirate, though we are talking about offices, not us mere mortals) alternative without any major disadvantages in terms of both the operating system and office suite.
As for the software library each system offers, just remember that it is not the fault of the operating system, it’s that of the developers who willingly compiled for only one or two of them (and Apple’s because apparently you gotta pay just to develop apps :/)

upgrading from win10 to win11 with a new-ish asus motherboard (those that come with armoury crate) can irreversibly destroy windows firewall. not joking. it'll boot normally first time but a restart later and it will be permanently borked. at this point no repair (dism, sfc, repair windows installation, defaulting the firewall, forcing the service back online, etc) other than a full wipe and clean windows install works.

took me 5 hours to find the fix in a small thread, restore point to before destroying the firewall forever, then use psexec to give full control of regedit because asus spams the appcs debuggedloopingapps, like 1000 entries, and that somehow fucks up the value for that string which will break firewall (and ms store but no one wants that anyway).
the thread was from 2022 btw and asus still haven't fixed it.

conclusion: never EVER _EVER_ buy asus.

It cannot handle multiple instances of an app properly, it's a nightmare to use on multiple monitors.
Either all the windows on an app are focused or none are. Can't have browser on one screen and work on the other, it will focus the browser on screen 2 too...
It's a hassle to swithc between windows of the same app.

Nah, windows 11 is not the answer. The answer for now is windows 10 iot ltsc. That buys time for someone to hopefully jump on this huge opportunity of making a windows clone that is open source and lightweight, free of microsoft.

It might not activate the first time you try, if that happens just restart and try again. If it still doesn't activate turn tpm off in your bios and try again. You have 3 options:

. Go back to a less pozzed version of Windows (64-bit 7 will give you the greatest leverage) and invest some time re-familiarizing yourself with it and learning how to secure it and bring it up to date, only sacrificing a bit of compatibility with modern jeetware.

. Neet out, learn Troonix from scratch and give up everything good you had going on in terms of access to quality software.

. Burn a bunch of cash on a new Mac and forget about it. Yes, you're going to be spied on 24/7, and yes, you won't own anything installed in your computer, and yes again, you'll have zero control over the system, but at least the overall experience will be more pleasant and you won't be nagged and threatened like you are now.

All things considered, since Windows 10 users are low iq NPC's who roll with new thing no matter what, I'd say they'll just get on the 11 train regardless. It's only going to take a a couple of weeks or so before they realize they don't have the agency to shoot for better things.

You have 3 choices:
>1. Free ESU for 1 year. (You need to log in to your Microsoft account and sync your PC settings, and enroll in Windows Update settings)
>2. Paid ESU for 3 years (Free activation via TSforge in MAS).
>3. Use W10 IoT Enterprise LTSC 2021 (Updates until Jan 13, 2032).

Why would anybody suggest going from 10 to 11 instead of linux if you feel you must upgrade?

They live in literal hell on earth that they created and it's done nothing to slow their breeding habits down. A people that create hell wherever they go and exponentially breed no matter how terrible their conditions are because their standards are non existent. Jeets are a plague and will be the death of this world, their genetics and low standards/explosive breeding is spreading across the world now like open sores on a plague victim and planet earth is the plague victim, and the first sore started in a place called india...
I am deeply concerned for the future, there won't be one if they spread too fast and far.

MacOS does its best to hide the filesystem from you. I had to Google on how to show the file path in MacOS and even after toggling the right button it took me 30 seconds to actually see where it was shown on screen given how tiny the bar is. Not surprised people who grew up on MacOS don't know what a filesystem is.
But as for Zoomers who grew up on Windows I'm pretty sure they grasp it as it is such an integral way of moving through your files on Windows. (Tough I suppose there is a subset that might entirely rely on the recent files feature or just place everything on the desktop. But that subset of sub 80 IQ retards would have been lost 20 years ago as well.)

Well, you’re talking to the dude who mains Arch, I think it’s for those who are willing to not listen to advice that just make your life difficult and maintain their distro at least once a day (updating and whatnot). Archinstall is good enough and I have manually installed it before and I’d rather use archinstall.

Why when the manual activation on mas is just dropping a non executable xml file a folder then putting an activation key in?
It's nice that they have a script, but it ain't necessary at all. One of the reasons people won't do it is they don't want to run a strange script. You don't need to.
