Is FIREFOX dying?

Addons:
>uBlockOrigin
>Violentmonkey (only 4chanX)

Open link in new tab
>massive time to load
>failed to load page
>F5 does nothing
>need to select url in the url bar and then press enter
>page finally loads

WTF /g/? This shit happens with every website randomly, is it a DNS thing? Also big slow down wich also happens randomly. I tested edge and it seems to work fine

Firefox has been de-facto abandonware for years now. Why are you still using it?

I get that too but only for youtube when using firefox on my phone.

Firefox is less than 2% on some days, I have heard rumours that some Mozilla devs just want to switch to chromium or at least add a "Chromium mode" for the long list of buggy websites.

I never encountered this and I run an ungodly amount of extensions, scripts, preferences and userChrome changes.

Closest I can think of is some tabs stuck on buffering for a few seconds (in 99% of cases it's YouTube so it's not surprising), but they're solved by duplicating them and it doesn't happen often enough to be annoying. I love my foxy woxy.

it's their caching algo, it's niggerlicious, please disable it completely, literally 0 use case only annoyance, or use ctrl+f5 for a real reload.

Actually, I take it back, I do remember encountering something like that, but it's only when opening a ton of tabs, 100+ all at once and even then it's very rare. I use an extension that opens the tabs unloaded. If anyone wants it, it's this:

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/load-background-tabs-on-select/

Pin it to the taskbar and click it for on/off.

I'm more of a CTRL + SHIFT + R kind of guy. It's easier to do one-handed.

I've noticed that nowdays it has an annoying tendency to just hang for a few seconds when loading tabs (regardless of it being in cache or not) both on mobile and desktop.

The thing I always hated about Firefox was that, when you opened a new tab and started to type in the search/address box, when it finished loading the page, it would replace/mix whatever you typed with the address.
To the very last day I used Firefox, I had this issue; I even entered a rabbit hole about it and found out that devs expected users to wait for the new tab to completely load before starting to type.

Maybe it's cause I'm using a new tab related extension or maybe they changed it or maybe it's some setting that I changed, but it works on my machine.
