It's obvious to us. There's 200+ years of company towns forming in America. One of the latest being Elon's Starbase down at the tippy toe of Texas.

America's latest obsession is Bucee's gas stations. They're not really gas stations at heart but they have multiple recent facilities with Bucee's street names. One of their Missouri locations is on Beaver Road, for example.

Not that Anon, but what kind of engineering student? If it's something like mechanical, then just go for whatever the IT guys at your university recommend, since you'll probably need to run some memory and power-hungry CAD and computational algebra programs (Solidworks/Fusion 360, Matlab, ANSYS).
If it's Electrical/Computer, you might be able to get away with using Loonix, since Loonix can run stuff like Simulink and Eagle, but make sure to ask your professors/instructors, since they could fuck you over by saying you'll need Windows-only programs like PSpice or OrCAD.
If it's Software, you can get away with using a shitty Raspberry Pi running Raspbian.

As to compare them, Massgrave has a list of sites for checksums:
https://massgrave.dev/genuine-installation-media#verify-authenticity-of-files

Pic related is from Microsoft's official website but you need to log into an account (you can see checksums for LTSC ISOs even if you can't download them from MS)

Just got a windows update 5 mins ago. It didn't download anything but the windows update tab now displays the "you are up to date" message instead of the "your version has reached the end of support".
Tried to manual update just 20secs ago and it worked fine. Again nothing was downloaded but the message that was displayed was the correct one.
It seems Microsoft stealthily fixed it. You all should be getting the update in the next hours for sure.

Also also, funnily enough some modules needed software that was only available on Linux, e.g. questasim to simulate vhdl code. For that, we’d have to ssh into a Linux server with x11 port forwarding, run vsim, and paste our code there. It was pretty interesting but I think it would’ve been simpler to just have a Linux system and run the program locally
