You can make a robot carry or sit on you if you wear a t-shirt with QR code?

Why do they insist on humanoid robots for those tasks? There's thousands of more efficient designs.

>Why do they insist on humanoid robots for those tasks?
Money. Simple as.

>"There are two schools of thought on how to solve real-world robotics: build an environment specifically for robots, or reverse it and build robots for our human environment. We could have either millions of different types of robots serving unique tasks or one humanoid robot with a general interface, serving millions of tasks. At Figure, we believe general purpose humanoid robots built for a human environment is the desired route to have the largest overall impact. For that reason, our humanoid robots resemble the human body in shape — two legs, two arms, hands, and screen for a face. With one product we can meet the complex human environment with human-like capabilities, and provide endless types of support across a variety of circumstances."

As expected. He wrote this treatise in one sitting at the very founding of the company. I'm sure (as he mentions) there are literally millions of possible scenarios with the human form (or, conversely, millions of possible robots that would need developing instead). Which would you choose?

>tl;dr
Don't throw the baby out with your pet peeve, fren.

certainly something quadrupedal at least
thats gonna solve so many problems and make it so much more capable while keeping the same functionality

VC capital. Business majors are not smart, or efficient, or even know where to really put their money for a good return. Most VC capitalists, simply shove their cash into a bubble and try and pull out before its too late.

Until computer leaves the analog age, we won't see any real sci-fi type shit.
