How come VR didn't take over the world like we all thought it would? The technology is good. It's affordable(and good flat panels are expensive). You don't need a cable. There's plenty of software. Why do users INSIST on using flat screens?

what's amazing about hunter schafer is that she has never had implants. if you don't believe me, check out her nudes. those breasts are simply a result of HRT. just goes to show that some males were really meant to be female. I'd love her and care for her for my whole life.

as for VR, i think the goggles are too annoying. im looking forward to the days when monitors are able to track eyemovement to generate 3d images for me.

My guess is nobody want to wear a damn helmet everytime they wanna browse the web or whatever. Maybe when they manage VR glasses that actually look like glasses, things will be different. Also, people will probably prefer AR rather than VR.

Meta monkeys keep their quest browser panels limited to 720p and horizon workrooms is limited to 1080p/screen despite Virtual desktop(paid non meta app) proving you can literally run 3 4k screens at the same time or have a full pc VR experience streamed to your quest.
I wish VD would give more rooms to play with preferably not indoors.

Quest 3 is still too heavy to be a daily driver + my hidpi macbook screen has spoiled me. I won't settle for anything less color accurate or noticibly lower in pixel density as a daily driver.
>bsb
1k and you need a computer
>Pimax air
Not even our yet but it's 2k(who the fuck is going to buy this?)

I really hope meta does something crazy for the next quest. I'd take a compute puck(wireless) + light headset over a heavy headset anyday as long as there's no lag.

Meta isn't doing the app store right. When it comes to games at least things should be like steam where you have a trial period of 24 hrs to try out the game. Nobody wants to drop money on a lukewarm or potentially graphically outdated nonrefundable game.
This is such a no brainer I can't figure out why they have yet to implement it they'd get way more sales.

I also have no idea how to leave reviews on the horizon store.

Too expensive for its current state for the regular user. There's a reason why the furries are the most users, they have the most money to burn.
They need to either drastically lower the prices of the headsets or make the full body motion more affordable.

>have you adjusted your ipd
yeah but the nausea comes from a disconnect between what your eyes see and what your body feels
i can play any game now and the only thing that makes me uneasy is vr porn filmed with handheld cameras

I remember seeing a clip of this from the dev when he was building it years ago. Is it a real published thing now?
Anonymous No.106903715
The answer is, exclusively, headache and nausea.
You can't just gayme and jerk off for hours, which is what people need tech for.

You can never do good marketing for it, because most of the marketing relies on you owning a headset. The "isolationist" nature of the headset also means that no headset can do the standard "your in-group will consoom this with you" marketing, because they can only show off one person using it at a time.
Facebook sabotaged it and poisoned the well, they're also operating at very low efficiency while investing the most money, which is bad for the overall industry. Carmack stated that they're operating at half efficiency at best due to petty office politics, but likely they're not even breaking double digits.
Every company independently doing its own thing is kind of fumbling it, but doesn't want to cooperate because of what Facebook turned the market into.
Locked down ecosystems with no openly published standards are hard to contribute to with third party controllers and so on.

VR has effectively still taken off, the current wave has persisted for a decade and is becoming more popular than some dead-end consoles, but the current paradigms and anti-marketing are hard to shake.
