Use case for having so many extensions?

Modern internet is like having sex with a 74 years old roadside prostitute, you need every protection.

I consider myself an extension & userscript addict and use a ton of them to make my browsing experience better (especially the enjeetified trash heap known as YouTube). Even so I only have around 30 something extensions active at any one time, and not that many more in total. I have no idea why there are nearly 200k extensions on Chrome. Even the 26k on Edge seem excessive.

I'm beyond cooked when it comes to that, I've got a ton of unique settings on top of countless extensions and scripts.
