I had to block that AI Mode button in uBlock Origin because I kept misclicking it. I don't even hate having an optional AI button, but it's very poorly placed.

I think we've reached the point where we need an alternative front end for Google. This is normally the job for other search engines that use the Google index, but for some reason their results seem to be even worse time and time again.

I think one of the big issues for the modern internet is that it's dominated by corporate sites, and those sites and site layouts are optimized for corporate interests, not necessarily usability.

Pretty insane that you can dismiss upwards of 1 billion websites as a graveyard of nothingness. Even if most of it is spam, there are more legitimate websites on the Web than you'd ever see in a hundred lifetimes, especially when you leave your English-speaking bubble.

I use adblocker. Has anybody noticed that a simple google search takes 5-10 seconds for the page to load whereas a few years ago it was instant? Is this google being slow because i block their ads? What does a google search result even look like without an ad blocker, i am totally unfamiliar with the concept

DuckDuckGo: Not only spayware but also indexes its search results from Google so you're still using Google in the end.
Bing: Same shit as Google.
Yandex: Maybe it would be a valid alternative is the results weren't in russian and it didn't have a russian bias showing you russian websites first and foremost.

For searches I use Ecosia, they might use google as a base layer, but it is completely un-cucked, basic and simple.
