it's really bad, even though linux community keeps gaslighting you that it "just works". a couple of games i tried in the last few months:
-biomutant: weird graphical glitches, there is an issue about it on proton's github but there are no replies after 4 years.
-far cry 3 - won't launch, protondb reports kept bringing up 5 different "solutions", none of those worked
-quantum break - linux shits itself during the tv show part of the game, i got black screen (but audio and subtitles worked for some reason)
-darksiders - cutscenes are broken, no fix
-saints row gat out of hell - completely broken
it's just too annoying. a lot of games either straight up won't work, have issues, graphical glitches (that nobody reports because linux users don't seem to care), or you have to switch to a different proton version 5 times just to hit the one that works. oh, and don't forget to put this specific launch option or you get crackling audio. it just works, bro!
