Windows is the answer. All linux distros are still linux. Linux is not the answer. People are settling for linux. The answer is to make an OS that is a distro of windows but is 100% separate from microsoft. Same file system, same compatibilities, but make it super lightweight and hopefully even open source.
Face it, the reason people are using linux in the numbers they are is because of how much they hate microsoft. If there was a windows copy out there you'd see the linux userbase shrink to a tiny fraction what it is today. That's just the way it is.
