Turn your fucking screen brightness down.

I get e-ink for books, but for manga it's stupid. You can't do double page spreads like you can on a decent monitor or tablet.
Anonymous No.106926920 [Report]

>Turn down your brightness
It almost never goes down to zero. I admit this isn't an inherent property of e-ink, but every modern monitor and tablet (Why the fuck would you get one for reading? Just use your phone if you dgaf about e-ink) is backlit instead of reflective
>You can't do double page spreads
Just, rotate them? KCC has a setting for it
Anonymous No.106926931 [Report] >>106926954 >>106927097
The reality is that e-ink has been a solved market for a decade at this point. 300 PPI screens have been around that long, and so the market has had to pivot into retarded shit instead. First it was bigger devices for PDFs, now it's color so your book covers look pretty and all the text looks worse because of the color layers.

I'm still using a 9 year old e-reader because nobody has made anything half as good since then.

It's not very portable though. It'd be nice to replace like a textbook collection but if you're using reference material like textbooks, having PDFs just on a normal device is where it's at. You're missing the point. You explicitly asked for a backlight, ruling out every other option to illuminate the display.
