How many 'active' newsgroups are there really on Usenet?
It seems like this MasterKarsten guy is really working hard on reviving a privacy tech related newsgroup and I see some meh activity. But are there any Anime and Manga related newsgroup which has decent interaction compared to Usenet standard? For now I am only browsing different groups through newsgrouper.org but I don't see any really active group.

Then where are those oldfag anime autists with extensive knowledge of anime and manga? They surely do not thrive on /a/.

Any advertising is good advertising I guess... We just started and many have still to really understand the "new" way of communicating. Hope numbers will grow, it's actually already better than expected.

In any case I think /pol and /lit are great candidates to get their own newsgroup running.

My intuition tells me making /pol/ aware of usenet will cause them to singlehandedly ruin it.

As one of the guys doing part of the work: There's never ever going to be a better time to make a shill thread for a newsnet group that you want to exist than today.

Go there, take some anons, advertise, build a community. Do this for when the basket weaving forum, discord, everything else on the WWW shits the bed and goes down because of censorship.

Exactly. And it was around a hell of a lot earlier than Toonami. Which, of course, was my point.

In my feed there are at least half a dozen which are actually kinda hard to keep up with, and plenty of others which are only casual-checkers but still remain active within the week or month. I think that pace is actually better for me personally, like a non-4ch imageboard.

Plus I've been making my own new posts in inactive groups for topics which interest me. The only way is to participate! Whining doesn't generate activity ;]
