Microsoft know there are hundreds of thousands of autists who'll download and test their updates on day 1 so dont bother testing themselves anymore.
they'll then listen to their screeching and fix the bugs but create even more

Wintards have been conditioned by Microsoft to accept all the broken and shoddily programmed garbage in Windows as a given. But god forbid some random fucking Linux DE has a one pixel too wide menu.

That's because at the end of the day people will still get their shit done on Windows while the programs they have to use don't even work on Linux even if the desktop experience wasn't a worse clusterfuck than W11s settings """app""".

No one really uses the recovery options like at all, probably once a year, only a retard like OP would say it "bricks" your entire pc when you probably wouldn't even notice that isn't working.

This happened to my parents the night before last. Thankfully, I was able to help them make installation media that would allow them to enter a working recovery environment and get their shit back. What a colossal fuckup by Microsoft.

like 2 years ago, my uncle had his computer blown the fuck out because of a windows 11 update.
he told me the computer did the update screens and then could never boot to windows, like no boot menu nothing

I had to go over there, and the hard disk was fried,
after much investigation, it turns out Windows 11 pushed a firmware update to the nvme hard disk and botched it, so it bricked the hard drive,
everything lost.

I installed a new drive and put linux mint on that thing immediately

>yes windows 11 updates will also firmware update your hardware, it is true

This issue is because they have Fast Boot on in the BIOS. I went through this on several computers at my workplace.

>another major bug
I can't fathom being forced to work on Windows honestly. It's probably some of the most bloated, dog shit code on earth and you can't break anything either. Do they even have QA anymore or any automated testing? Like how does shit like, input drivers not working in recovery menu, not tested for?

It has to be the "AI" and the Jeets or something much worse...

So yeah, guess this update fucked my computer. Noticed my windows key wasn't working yesterday, went to discover I can't open settings etc. Consent.exe wasn't working, whole lot of shit. Sfc \scannow fixed consent.exe at least but settings etc still not working. Reinstalled windows, shit's still fucked. Went to reset and just ran into this in winre.

Jesus fucking christ.

i didn't restart my computer for 230+ days, after 10-15 full pacman -Syu-s on arch btw sway/i3 setup. was still running a kernel from december 2024 in september 2025.

finally restared it cuz after kernel updates it does forget how to mount things, but i don't use that frequently on that computer. it still werks after the restart.

I was updating my work computer on Friday. It booted, I logged in and it instantly went black screen. I waited five minutes, then I had to hold the laptop power button to force it off. Restarted, updated and it finally worked.

Windows is too complex, it must support 1.5 billion different computers, yet is has the potential to mega mess up in mass as well.

We may hit a point of no return one day, imagine Microsoft mass corrupts secure boot somehow and making 1.5 billion bricks.

Why would I ever use WinRe? When you fucked up your OS and need recovery it's basically a skill issue. Maybe you should go back to Windows 7 if 11 is too difficult for you.
