no, it's not. servo itself probably needs a couple of years minimum for it to become a viable daily driver. and a both performant and featureful JS runtime written in rust is not on the horizon at all, as no one is funding such an effort. this can change, and change quickly, if someone with deep pockets suddenly decided that they want it. but i would say that's unlikely.
a good progressive step would be supporting posting here, which the last time i checked wasn't possible because of cloudflare and captchas. a couple of (blob) bugs need to be fixed first for that to work, and possibly further requirement will pop up and require fixing/implementing before this becomes a possibility.

servo is cool but the problem is it's really really really really really fucking slow. both in development time and performance.

How is ladybird better than ff and chrome? how long until it gets the cuckflare treatment? how is this different from the arc browser situation? do you trust the guy behind ladybird or he is another wannabe techlord farming idiots like the omarchy guy?
@grok answer this questions

Is that supposed to be the competition for chromium ?
Anonymous No.106954463 [Report]
>>106954427
no, it was mozilla's testbed for using rust to build a webengine. cost cutting meant it was dropped off like an unwanted newborn, linux foundation later picked it up.

why isn't this a thing? I would have thought that the combined mental illnesses of rust devs would have made it a thing a long time ago

the web itself is mental illness going to 11. it doesn't just have some mentally ill users/fans.

can't wait to spend 12 hours compiling it.

nightly binaries are available. and servo shares some components with firefox (like webrender and stylo). so if you have been compiling firefox, you have been compiling half of servo the whole time.

Troonism and general faggotry is just a bunch of psychopaths making exaggerated posturing to win society's pity which then they turn into overtaking power.

You can see doing real work is nowhere in that plan. Nothing ever done on Rust is useful, they just don't do that, everything done in Rust, however, is greatly advertised as revolutionary, inclusive, and gay and deserving of attention only because of that.

Rust is just another way for them to try and disguise themselves as human beings.

Servo is targeting Electron replacement before general web browsing. Embedded usage as webview/ webruntime is the first objective
Anonymous No.106956655 [Report]
>>106956590
besides making sure embedding works, there isn't much of a difference from a web engine PoV. and servo is a web engine, parallel to blink, not chromium or electron.
Anonymous No.106956965 [Report] >>106957054
>>106956590
Tauri already replaced Electron. Why use Servo when you can just use the OS built-in webview?
Anonymous No.106957054 [Report] >>106957132
>>106956965
Platform differences. The whole point of electron is to have the same thing everywhere.

ladybird is powered by drug rehab, autism, and donations from open source organizations, and as BDFL he promises to never spend money on anything that isn't development

the objectives may be different but the methodology and result is the same
it's a web engine, and the only thing you can really do is make number go up and make website work; not including bug-compatibility.
you don't know ahead of time what retarded bullshit people will do, but adhering to the spec at least means you have a concrete goal and don't have to invent bullshit use-cases
