I use a samsung galaxy s23 with the android 14 that came out of the box, but i have removed google play service and related apps using ADB. If i end up needing the gsuite, I use Secure Folder to install apps that need google play services. I've been using this setup for little over a year. But I dont know how secure this setup is so i just want to know what the community thinks of this? Is it stupid? Is there anyone that use a phone similiarly? If yes drop some tips and tricks you've found.

Also google seems to be really locking down on the sideloading thing. Now i get errors even on the apps on Secure Folder.

I havent updated the phone once i bought.

I've owned a google pixel 10 for a week and I want to blow my brains out. It's got a mind of its own, I can't figure out the stupid UI and it overheard me say "adios" to some guy when my GPS was active and now every time I use google maps it's giving me directions in spanish. I haven't used any of the AI features yet due to fear of it wresting even more control away from me with the operation of my phone. Should I just take this shit back and eat the restock fee? Is it just growing pains from a decade old phone upgrade? Can you learn to live with Gemini back seat phoning?

I think my other option was a moto razr flipper, which gives me great concern because I heard they're great minus the dogshit camera. Writing this while I look wistfully at my fractured galaxy S 10 remembering when smart phones were simpler. im still using a 6 year old phone which still has a headphone jack and id like to keep it that way so that speaks for the xperia 10. the honor is currently on sale at a retailer for 370 bucks(256gb) or at the official honor store for 470 but for the 512gb version with a 66w watt charger and wireless headphones. the xperia costs 450bucks. i prioritise good cameras and a somewhat fast processor for apps and mild multitasking. never really play games on phone. in a perfect world teh xperia 5VII would have released and i would get that one but sony had to be morons on this one. i guess the quastion im asking is if someone has experince with any of these 2 phones or the processors and can tell me about their reallife everyday performance.

Question:
I wrote a program that takes in ffmpeg and compiles it into a wrapper of sorts that runs gui and command line. My question is this: since I'm getting a new phone, I want to try something with my old phone and the additional 1tb sd card on the phone. I want to run linux on the cellphone, and offload the conversion of the video file so that the phone does the work and also stores the file for later retrieval for my local network. The program compiles and runs as expected for conversions, especially the command line argument method, but the gui is nice too.

I guess I also want to know if compiling programs on the cellphone is faster/better than compiling on a desktop. I have like 3 cellphones that span from 2017 to today. I'd probabbly ssh into the cellphone command line. This portion of the question is really relegated to an experiment. Maybe even try running the cellphones in parallel to get more computing/compiling power.

Battery is getting kinda sus. I needed to use hotspot at work to test access to our services from an outside network and it obliterated the battery just sitting on a table with 4G and Hotspot on for a few hours.

On Android? No issue. If you're only running retro games up to PSX/Saturn/N64 iPhone is fine, but anything slightly newer is restricted to the point of being untenable on iOS.

Yeah if you turn the graphics down on Genshin Impact (or the other Mihoyo gacha games) or Wuthering Waves. These games are so unoptimized that they can't run at 60fps the whole time on the highest graphics settings, even on the most powerful SoCs you can buy.
