How will scientists explain this?
Anonymous No.106982886 [Report]
Because of limited app range, with some of paid apps working only on Windows or MacOS. There's no need to be a scientist to know about it.

Most people don't use good things in general.

All pc hardware is either created for windows or mac, there is no explicit linux support, basically linux chases hardware, for windows and mac it's the other way around.

Not true, however it also depends what you mean by "good", for most people good means functional and popular.

1. you cant just search how to fix a problem on linux, there are hundreds of distros that work differently
2. most try to go out of their way to be as obtuse as possible
3. commonly, the programs people use do not work, and even when they do, its only on certain distros with certain updates
normlings cant even fucking use the file browser

every single linux marketing conversation goes like this
>"you should use linux it is the best OS"
>"i would but it doesnt have <basic feature other OS have had since 1999>"
>"you are stupid to want that feature. filtered"

You can show them a thing that does what they want better. They will use it once. Agree that it's better. And then never use it again. When you ask them why they'll say they don't know.

It's hard for anyone on here to empathize, but some people are not good with technology and cannot follow basic instruction. I use Linux for most things, and recently set up a Bazzite machine. I love Diablo 2, so I went to Lutris to install Battle.net and it didn't work. I ended up using some other installer to get it working, which is fine and what I'm used to, but I can't imagine the average person even realizing that when something doesn't work, they can do 10 seconds of research to figure out a different way to make it work. I would assume this is the reason so many people don't game on computers to begin with, they lack problem solving abilities, and there's no beating around the bush: Linux requires more of that than Windows.

Because real world Linux distrod represent a cancer, too many for no good resdon, but freetards will tell you it is a feature, not a bug.

Linuxtards pretend it's normies fault for being stupid or tech illiterate, when in reality, Linux is not hard, it's just shit. Really, really shit.

ok anon, install distro x with y desktop environment

two months later
>it's cool but for some reason I also need [something else]
ok anon, but your distro/de can't do that with one command! install gentoo or torture yourself trying to do it in some sketchy way

because linux isn't good out of the box
just tried installing fedora, ubuntu, tumbleweed, and endeavouros. out of those, only one that installed without hassle was ubuntu. at the same time, people fall for marketing and install bazzite or cachyos. nothing inherently wrong with these projects, but they are new, and therefore buggy.
another factor are the users themselves. literally everything needs to be spoonfed. just take a peek into /fglt/ and see how retarded the average windows switcher is. combine this with buggy non-functioning software, and the outcome is obvious.

Probable reasons include:
1) my system works right now
2) backing up my files is a hassle, i don't even have a backup drive
3) Linux isn't one thing!? which fucking distro?

Every distro has at least 1 hurdle to get around.
Either stability, packages, usability or some fucking retarded way to configure something that should work.
Also drivers can be an issue, if you have the wrong wifi card and have to build wifi drivers it's a pain.

Recently I installed Bluefin and I had to go through a small process to add windows to grub.
Since that usecase is unsupported by the retarded developers.
