The package system is like having a robot cleaning your ass.
Meanwhile an installer is like being a jeet using your left hand to remove the brown smear.
Use bidet btw, the patrician choice.

you need a package manager to keep all the packages and their dependencies in sync
you need to stay in sync because linux userspace is built on quicksand, no backwards compatibility expected
such is life in bazaar development

Installer give you the power to choose where to install your program. In linux the power is taken away from you. Everything has to be in the OS partition. So if you reinstall your distro as troontard do on a weekly basis, they loose all that data when they format. For all the shit they talk about windowns, the troontard is far more dependent on the cloud. No amazon means their shit distro can't function.

that requires a team to make certain decisions and commit to them forever
the teams that can do that aren't giving away their product under free libre terms (see: windows)

Packages are installers. They just run automatically. If you really want, you can make a script that spawns a window that makes you click "next" 5 times and forces you to unselect bundled malware before it installs the package. Will that make you feel at home?

...That's Microsoft windows.
Say about them whatever you want, Microsoft did by FAR the best job providing backwards compatibility out of any OS.
Most software from Windows' early days will still run.

anti piracy tards will say it's "propietary" and it will die out, linux is a tool used by enterprises to combat piracy, that's why I hate these hypocrites
