Mint is on the long list of distros that would rather you download the unofficial Chrome flatpak than the official Chrome deb. This matters more for Mint than other distros on account of their demographics. This is concerning.

So you'd rather add a Google repository to your PC than downloading a sandboxed version that can be updated and removed without even needing root?

Chrome cannot be compiled unless it's by the developers. It's proprietary.
Also, Google could push updates to any package in your machine and break shit. It's asinine to stick with random deb files and random repositories when sandboxes packages work better.

I'm not sure, my laptop with mint randomly closes tabs when I click on the touchpad slightly towards the center.
It doesn't do it if I use a mouse, and I have all touchpad gestures off but it keeps doing it

OOMs, I have this problem with every distro based on Uboonga, saying so because I tested Mint and Zorin, the so called beginner-friendly distros that gave me nothing but headaches. Any other distro such as Debian, Endeavor, Fedora and Tumbleweed never had such problem
