Has someone written a tool for automatically transferring seeding torrents from your seedbox's torrent client to another client on a local machine with more space for long-term seeding? Like cross-seed working across different devices instead of different trackers - transferring both the content and the .torrent files, and automatically seeding them in the new client once both are copied over.

I've only used it for RED and OPS but I think it can be used for JPS too

So... ranking up on RED seems incredibly difficult

Compared to other trackers like lets say LST, TL, where you can autobrr and easily accumulate ranks, and long term seeding you dont even need autobrr because of ability to purchase GB via points

Plus the large size of movies / TV makes actually seeding to someone very worth it. Lets say you're the only person seeding Sopranos S01, boom thats 70 GB when someone downloads it.

To hit 500 GB on RED is another beast. Hitting 500 uploads via transcoding FLACs is a piece of cake, but hitting 500 GB upload data seems kinda impossible?

For those of you who did it what tips do you have

Hi, I'm very new to private trackers, because for years I just had my needs met with public ones. Needing to get an old movie in french audio for my sister, I signed up for yggtorrent as it was well recommended, saw they had the movie she wanted, and downloaded it (at a frankly impressive speed). I thought I'd just be able to seed it like I always do, i.e keep it on the list until it reaches a ratio of 10 or I do my monthly torrent folder cleanup, whichever comes first.

I was dead wrong. Not only did I never get a single hundredth of ratio on that torrent after a week, I also used up about half of my 9GB starting allowance (after which my ratio would reach 1 and I wouldn't be able to download anything anymore). This makes sense when I think about it, I decided on a torrent that was already well-seeded, but that had little to no demand.

My question is, how does that work for individual torrenters ? Since you can only download as much as you've uploaded, doesn't that make seeding a finite resource, discouraging the seeding of less popular material since you're unlikely to "get your money back" on those, sending us back to square one w.r.t public trackers ? Obviously the fact that there's more than a hundred seeds on that "less popular" torrent means there's probably something I'm missing, but I'm not sure what.

Yggtorrent does have a paid option to purchase gigabytes of upload and days of free leeching, but that can't be what fuels this economy, paying hundreds of dollars to watch movies sounds like the kind of thing we're trying to avoid here. The free gigabytes alloted to each new user could function as a faucet too, but this wouldn't work for invite-only trackers that limit the amount of new users, i.e most of them, as far as I've gathered.

I using AR very rarely, Are you guys still using this tracker? I see some comments about AR very exceptionally.

The point is: you can have your torrent traffic use your VPN connection while browsing behind CGNAT and you won't have problems. VPN isn't a must though, many trackers like PTP and OPS give you bonus points for seedtime, which you can trade for upload credit.

- 100% log verifies that the files were copied correctly and did actually come from a CD (most of the time searchable in a DB)
- If you're looking for a specific mastering of an album, its difficult to do that with WEB as they're usually not listed
For older albums, (anything released before streaming began) this is much more important, as labels love silently remastering albums to make them sound terrible.
- CDs are also usually tagged with a release number/location which makes identification easier
