They are still memes, with plastic screens (Google lies about their Fold and says it's magical folding glass that doesn't exist) that can be damaged by a Mohs level 2 object or your fingernail. Normal phone screens can withstand a level 5 and only start scratching at a level 6 or 7.

I don't think Apple releasing a foldable fits with their modus operandi but Tim Cook is not Steve Jobs so they may ape Samsung. Personally the iPhone Air which I am typing on is a far more compelling product than an easily damaged folding screen.

Looking at moving to Mint mobile because it's $360 a year instead of the $1200 I'm spending right now through T-mobile. Just get an iPhone. If iPhones were as locked down as /g/ thinks then nobody would use them. You can do plenty on them. I have sidestore on mine but not sideloaded a single app yet because iOS can already do everything I need. Apple is just good as sophisticated UI design so all the cool features are placed in different spots than android to make it look and feel more clean

After months of trying to make up my mind about which phone to buy, I had finally decided to get the Vivo x300 Pro, but now that I know it'll get a very downgraded battery compared to China (5440mah vs 6510 mah) im not so sure anymore

During these months I've realized that every single phone has at least one significant flaw. Man, if i'm willing to spend >1k on a phone, i want the phone to be nearly perfect in very regard

I've had to pair it with an iphone 6.
In australia, ever since the 3g shutdown, it can only use 4g, but it does try to connect to 3g when 4g reception is bad, making it completely unreliable for phone calls and sms. Which is why I have the sim card in the iphone 6 and connect the key2 to it with hotspot.
The camera sucks, the iphone 6 camera is better.
Banking apps won't work because it's android 8.1 but you can use the browser. My front camera keeps getting dust under the glass too (I have no idea what's happening under the hood though).
You can't root it, but there are some dedicated people working on doing hardware upgrades like the zinwa q25 and the blackberry passport conversion. The key2 might get the same treatment eventually.
The ram is not too bad, but it isn't great at keeping apps running in the background like netguard. Sometimes they just need to be re-opened is all.
Voice to text is pretty shit, but for a word here and there rather than full sentences is okay.
I'm upgrading to the titan 2 so I can go back to using one phone again. I'd look at that instead and just discipline yourself if you are interested in the dumb phone meme.
If it didn't have these issues I'd stick with it until it died of old age. I love this thing, it's got a great form factor and the keyboard is king. If there's an app that doesn't work, there's usually a work around or a foss alternative anyway.

I got the Air yesterday, Sky Blue aka white. Typing this on it. Really nice, coming from an S25 Ultra it makes that phone feel like a brick.

I hope it succeeds, it's a great little phone. I'll have to see how the battery is over the next week obviously been using it a lot because it's new and it's doing initial setup stuff so it will stabilize over the course of a week or so like any phone. I'm actually enjoying iOS 26 compared to OneUI 8, it might not be 18 versions better but it's definitely a nicer experience than what you get with Samsung.

On a totally unrelated note, or rather ultra, how much should I ask for a basically pristine S25 Ultra 256GB in Titanium Black?
