I need a new ceiling retractable projection screen around 140" but it must be 16:10 and I'm overwhelmed by all the different options. Most of which seem like marketing bullshit.

I abandoned the screen, used plasterboard painted with projector paint and it works a treat, exactly the same reflective quality as all the screens I've owned. its marketing bullshit, correct

that's exactly what I've used up to this point, but due to renovations I need a screen that can retract and while I'm at it I would like to upgrade from 120" (max dimension of the wall between windows) to 140" (max dimension for given ceiling height)

do what >>107064640 says
if you aren't completely useless you can also sand down the wall a bit (you can borrow a wall sander for a few € per day) and then there are recipes for special DIY mixtures if you are too cheap to buy the premade projector paint mix (I am)

genuinely curious: why would you want to watch stuff as a projection instead of on a large display? Is it the fact that the projection surface only temporarily takes up space? (but it's much more of a hassle to set up)
I don't believe it's picture quality (good beamers cost a fortune and still have shit resolution)
Is it just the same snake oil like audiophile shit?
I don't get it

or is it about people desperately trying to recreate the nostalgic experience of going to the cinema without some people behaving like shit and talking loudly?
