After 30 years of free alternatives
>We still don't know what audio system we should use
>We still don't know what display server we should use
>We still don't know what widget toolkit we should use
>We still don't know what DE we should use
>We still don't know how to fix most DE bugs
>We still don't know what init system we should use
And the funniest one
>We still haven't figured out what's the best way to install software

MacOS is my least favourite operating system I've ever used in my life, counting things like the video game console operating systems etc. I just hate basically every single thing about it. I might not like anything about MacOS at all.

It's way more professional than Linux desktop, but it's professionally bad. Everything works but the way it works is bad.

It's not the OS's fault that you're a man child who constantly needs to be told what to do, what to buy, what to use, what to decide.
Did you ask your mom if it's OK to make this thread?

The driver problems are really bad though, honestly. Especially when it comes to off the shelf peripherals, there isn't a guarantee you can even use them.

Many of these issues were actually resolved before the great fragmentation. Desktop linux has actually gone backwards.

Its almost as if Linux is open source and everyone wanted to try making one rather than be pigeonholed down netbsd and just make one ui and not support adding components inside your pc
