Not the same. Any PS3 or Wii you start up even today in 2025 will still look like that. The XMB looks fantastic and modern even on a large 4K TV because its clean lines upscale so well. Sony were retarded to ever move away from it. Xbox 360s with the original blades dashboard still intact are unicorns and were even back in 2015.

Because money. It's cheaper for businesses to release a shit, soulless application than for them to bling it out and give you fancy features like being able to change a wallpaper for free at no profit to them. Take Nintendo for example, they can release the shittest software and people will still buy it.
