as much as i hate redhat and unnecessary bloat, systemd is something i've come to like.

Would use if LXQt worked better on it.

I might consider it if Debian goes really crazy but I promised myself I wouldn't ever rely on distributions maintained by hobbyists or only a handful of people... idk what to do

it's absolutely 100% indians (it's one indian)

will happen in debian 14 earliest

why?

using devuan you also get most of the work that debian did.
devuan is focusing on the difference, not on everything. because of this, i dont think you need to worry that the project happens to be smaller.
its not a problem as much as it would be on a fully independent distribution.

what exactly does devuan aim to do besides remove systemd?

i'd think thats pretty much what their main goal is.
i don't know about the different architectures support, if that is any different.
probably a bunch of packages need adaptation but there is so much which does not involve an init system. i don't know the ratio though

Used if for a while. Saw it from Lunduke. Good distribution but I'll stick with Artix for now.
The T400 is too slow to have Gentoo.
My only computer is a ThinkPad T400. I threw everything away. I fell for the meme.

Never really had to do anything with aystemd other than enable/restart services (that I remember).

But I dislike debian for not using calamares with LUKS, so the question is does Devuan have a proper installer? If so I'm rerollin!

Debian does let you set up LUKS encryption in its installer, what are you talking about?

i was planning on moving back to debian in the next weeks, i cant believe 6 is here now, ive tried devuan many times before and it seems to not have liked my hardware, unlike debian that just werks so debi is where im going.
