Linux, easily. Or even just MacOS. Whatever is better than winblows.

In a matter of years Linux will support more new software than Windows 10.

I encourage you to try Linux especially Ubuntu. People here treat it as nearly as bad as Windows but it's great if you don't play games at all.
If you only play older games it works pretty well still.
But otherwise if you play some modern games at all stick with Windows 10

Try each, and figure out which one you want.
It ain't rocket science.

Windows 7. If it doesn't work on your hardware, try Mint xfce. If it doesn't work on your hardware, give up and sell your computer.

windows 10 iot ltsc
you're going to regret switching to linux when you have to troubleshoot something and your os becomes your second job
it's just not worth the hassle unless you need to use it for something professionally

Why do people pretend Linux still requires troubleshooting in 2025? It isn't 2007 anymore lol.

Linux is for autistic chuds who don't really use their computers for anything actually useful.

Everything in this post is backwards.
The only people who recommend ubuntu don't actually use linux.
New games work day one, it's older games that require tinkering or don't work at all.

You CAN'T switch to Windows. I tried. You need a Windows computer to get the drivers necessary etc. everything provided is idiotic .exe files, you boot into the installer and it says you're missing media drivers or whatever. It's just a JOKE. It's a JOKE.

Never recommend anything Ubuntu going forward, they're currently being ravaged by insane rust trannies rewriting everything and pushing it out while it's still shitting out errors
Bazzite is the newbie gamer distro now, it's just as newbie friendly if not more because it has bazaar and all the gamer stuff preinstalled
