I miss when they called us "computer guys". "Nerds" are not what they used to be, that's one thing. Today you're a nerd if you consoom nerd media or plays some video game, which are actually just pathetic, unintelligent basedboys. The other thing is, the only shows that represents computer nerds (which is what you're trying to describe) are the OG cyberpunk media, such as Ghost in the Shell, because in reality, nobody could depict the actual computer nerd, the Wizard, a species that still exists to this day but are in no way entertaining to build as a character. Fortunately, I still practice the old code where I can and I really miss the elitism of the golden days. There were wizards and lamers.
>if you can't deal with hardware, you're not an actual computer guy, you're a lamer
>if you can't program, you're a lamer
>if you can't sit on a desk on a poorly lit place for several hours without discomfort, you're a lamer
>if you don't know your way around computer networks, you're a lamer
>if you don't know databases, you're a lamer
>if you don't RTFM before asking anything, you're a lamer
Good times. This is the only tech culture I actually respect, the one of the old cavernous sysadmins. Normalfags and their smartphones ruined everything. Also, you're not a boomer, only underage newfags calls people boomers for nothing.
