Not sure why you tagged me, I'm actually rather content with current state of anime models. But sure, they could use some improvement when it comes to prompt understanding. A local (or uncensored saas model I guess) with gpt4-o prompt understanding would be cool to get some more interesting concepts or compositions without having to use loras/inpainting/cnet.

While that's partly true, a model you're using is still a huge part of the process. I remember people saying same shit about sd1.5 models where prompting anything more complex than 1girl standing was a fucking pain in the ass. And guess what, most gens were stiff 1girl standing looking at viewer. AI is all about ease of use.

you can do something like [very awa::0.6] on a1111-type UIs (removes tag after certain amount of steps). at around half of steps the anatomy should be settled and removing the tag will help avoiding the slop shading.

The influx of things like Qwen edit, Flxu context, Seedream and Nano Banana make it easy to create multiple views of characters, outfits and such. LLMs are good for brainstorming scene ideas and they can help you figure out the mood and get into your character's head before starting. Yes, actually, there's a visible slightly pink inpaint halo in those gens if you look closely, against the white background around the foot. Didn't notice until a second ago because I didn't really give these gens the same autistic attention to detail I normally do since I'm not posting them on Pixiv.
The inpaint halo is very easy to quickly remove with GIMP's Resynthesizer, or other image editors' content-aware equivalents.

Pretty sure all models suffer from this to an extent.
Easiest way to reduce them is to use Lanczos as img2img upscaler when inpainting (removes color shift effect that GAN upscalers have), do a low denoise img2img pass (unless you did inpaint for details, like adetailer) and use soft inpainting at high mask blur value.

For me, it's only ever noticeable in big, wide areas of flat color, and, again, very easy to quickly shoop out there.
And yes, I use soft inpainting.
Checking for inpaint halos and shooping them out is usually one of the final things I do before posting stuff.

This. You can test it by running furry artist tag prompts. If the model works with that, it's noobai. Illustrious has no furry shit in the dataset.
Noobai prohibits commercial use so all the grifters making paid commissions, lora, finetroons, shitmixes (ever saw models on civitai having a early access pay wall? if they use noob that's a license violation. Ever saw a shitmix that doesn't state its merging recipe? Another license violation.) with it are coping by saying they're really illustrious.
Noobai also requires you to give metadata to your prompts, it's a viral GPL like license except that it even affects what you create with it -- nobody respects the license anyway, but it has to be known:
