what happened is that Microsoft has learned to stop overlapping support with older versions.
When Windows 7 dropped, 2000 XP and Vista were all still supported.
When Windows 8 dropped, XP, Vista and 7 were all still supported.
When Windows 10 dropped, Vista 7 and 8 were all still supported.
When Windows 11 dropped, only 10 was still supported.
Now we only have Windows 11.
Microsoft is done with preserving older products.

Most people just don't like change. I hated windows 10 so I stayed on windows 7 for as long as possible, then went from windows 10 to windows 11 at the first chance I got. And despite how shit windows 11 is I still prefer it to windows 10.

Win2000 & WinNT4 were great once they were done. Win 7 sucked ass until it was done, then it was great. Win8 sucked ass the entire time & was such garbage compared to mature 7, MS had to distance themselves from it by a whole release and skip 9 & go to win10 which started out rough compared to a final mature install of win7 & sucked ass until it was refined for a decade & mature. Then win11 came out rough and compared to a final mature 10 sucked ass. See the fucking pattern? A final release of an OS with all its kinks worked out is always better than a new OS full of issues. But Win11 is just butchered win10 with worse stability & more anti-user & surveillance garbage baked in, so fuck your 11 up its ass. Win7 & 10 is the end of windows.
