It'll happen.
People were excited for black/grey cases and blue LEDs because they looked new and modern compared to the old beige cases.
First people will start doing it ironically, but once enough time passes people won't be making that association of beige=old and realise it's actually pretty neat.

They are just plastic covers for the 5.25" slots, same as picrel, just more stylish, you can remove them and use the 5.25" slots normally. The funnier part is that the case has a functional Turbo button (it's hooked up to the built in fan controller, when turned on it makes all case fans run at 100%).

This, that thing is just a retool of an existing case with the veneer of an old case even if it looks cool. Real old school chassis would have more things than that. Look at old British cases for example.

>This, that thing is just a retool of an existing case with the veneer of an old case even if it looks cool.

It's not a retool, it's a brand new mold. Unless you are implying they found the original molds for that case which I doubt.
and it has basically all modern features (pwm hub, gpu holder, removable dust filters, radiator support, rubber grommet hdd cage, etc) some of which are not even seen in modern cases because they are "old" modern like a hdd cage with anti vibration mounts.

>Real old school chassis would have more things than that.
I have some old chassis and they don't have anywhere near the amount of useful things that case has. If a 90s case had all of that shit, it would've left everyone stampeding in their own drool to buy one because ton of those features were unthinkable at the time. I think it wasn't until Antec in the mid-late 00s that all these features got added to a case for the first time.
The IBM330 I have somewhere has the top of the case sliding off a rail and the front panel had a slide cover to block the 5.25 slots, but that's about the only "more" it could do, unless you count the system board diagram printed on the inside of the top cover.

Is it actually? I thought it was just a modified version of an existing case that looks kind of similar just with a new front panel and drive bays. Especially because they still kept the PSU shroud for some strange reason and didn't bother cutting out any vents on the side panel.
>like fucking what, the Amstrad
Evercase, actually. You'd have to be a real fanatic to build in one of those today though, everything about their construction I remember to be fantastic and not like modern cases.

>Is it actually? I thought it was just a modified version of an existing case that looks kind of similar just with a new front panel and drive bays.

Oh, you mean the other way around. What I meant was that the plastic front panel requires new tooling, it may have been made to be similar to an older case but they had to use new tools unless they somehow found the injection mold for whatever 90s case they copied.

And yeah the interior is likely a retool of some other stock case that every company does, probably closest to one of the Fractal Design cases. However that still means it has 5x the features of a typical "modern" case, since every company but Fractal and maybe Jonsbo is releasing nothing but stupid fucking glass fishtanks now which don't even have ANY fucking features other than 12 fan bays and big holed meshes.

basically all white-ish plastics from the time have yellowed by now, but there certainly were a lot of different shades used. some beige, not that many though. they became known as beige because they yellowed within just a few years due to sunshine mixed with a lot of people still smoking inside at the time.
old macintoshes were known to be "snow white" but nowadays it's hard to find one that hasn't gone beige.

>they were white but iirc companies deliberately added compounds so that they would yellow over time so you would think it's old and replace it.

They had to add bromine to act as a fire retardant which reacted to UV exposure and yellowed the plastic. This however took DECADES, so it was in no way a deliberate attempt at making the machines look worse over time.

many were deliberately chosen to be their off white to look fresh and new at the time and blend into the office, without being an "imposing" black box. Pure white would have gotten too dirty too fast and not blend in with the office.

Amigas (1200,3000/t etc) were RAL Oyster White.
IBM XT and early AT's are Sandstone Beige.
Even the Snow and Platinum Macs were originally off white and beige respectively.

People forget that beige was sort of an in demand color at the time for a modern office ( and thus home computer trying to emulate it ) Black things like the Spectrum, Silver/black like the atari 800, etc were rather uncommon and later models like the XT would be a more neutral light grey color

No, it wasn't. If a 60% needs layers and macros to be able to work as fast as a full sized keyboard, then by definition it is not as productive.

Try typing in the numbers on a paper you are holding. That's a real thing that real people do all day in for ex. bank or post office. Try that with a TKL keyboard, I dare you.
