Macbooks are the most secure laptops
After years of listening you troons yap abt how secure linux is i did my own research and found out that saving qubes os(hard to learn for noobs), there is no other distro no matter how much you harden that can beat a hardened macbook in terms of security (dont even get me started on usability) turns out linux is just a meme after all?

MacOS's API is literal spyware sending every fucking click to Tim and you (in all honesty) are telling me (IT/ DevOps/ QM by trade) I should (((((harden))))) a system I have effectively zero control about its inner workings, running on a slab of soldered mobile chips as fragile as your masculinity, to use it instead a allwinner RedHat/ Suse or Windows Server Core ?

wow, that's so reddit of you, anon

what the fuck kind of setup is that?
it's not the worst i've seen but why is there toothpaste under there?
is it some sort of tiny home or van/RV setup?
Anonymous No.107110203 [Report]
also yeah, it's impossible to make any linux distro secure except for qubes OS and it's impossible to make your own distro and linux is a meme anyway, just get rid of it
use macbooks for all servers etc
have the intel management engine run IOS lmao

Whatever positive image apple has, it's usually the opposite.
It's not reliable, it's not intuitive, and it sure as fuck isn't secure.
But it's VERY well advertised

it's sad, because they really were the pinnacle for atleast two decades
durable hardware made for use
i think they've been cashing in hard on their reputation for the past 10 years, and although the hardware "specs" (how fast the CPU is, etc) are still good, everything else is a garbage hassle
macbooks from 15 years ago are comparable to thinkpads
Anonymous No.107110376 [Report] >>107110397 >>107110401

They were never durable though.
They always focused on look and feel. You know why thinkpads were always made of plastic? Because it's literally the most durable material for the job.
Apple devices were always more about how they feel than how usable they are.
I'll not talk about their psychological warfare against their users.
They've always been shit, you just realised it late

macbooks 15 years ago were thick and titanium-framed lol

that's just not true, i'm sorry
it's an interesting thing to research if anyone's interested
maybe look at repair tutorials for older macbooks & you'll see what i mean, the things were awesome

i understand the ones now are $10,000 thin fragile garbage with no ports or CD drive or proper heat exchanging, though, and impossible to repair or change hard drives or anything
