USE WINDOWS 7 RIGHT NOW!
Windows 7 is very secure and you cannot get hacked easily
Many viruses designed for Windows 10 and Windows 11 cannot run on Windows 7

How to secure a Windows 7 machine:
>Install pre-updated Windows 7 iso
>Install remaining security updates with UpdatePack7R2
>Disable SMBv1 and SMBv2
>Turn off vulnerable services
>Use MSE
>Use Simplewall
>Close vulnerable ports
>Use OSArmor
>Use Sandboxie
>Pay for the 0patch
>Install custom hosts file that blocks adware and malware
>Use secure DNS
>Always use Supermium and r3dfox
>Use hardened Linux with LUKS2 encrypted in a virtual machine if you need a banking or sensitive online activity

maybe you're meme-ing, but yesterday I had to pull some anime bookmarks off my old Win7 drive and was shocked at the non-accelerated performance
I hope that micro Win7 project goes somewhere

A router with a NAT and a fully supported browser like Firefox ESR is already 99%* secure.

One thing I like about W7 that is better than Linux is that nothing ever breaks

encrypt your boot and files with veracrypt

Some of these steps are redundant, for example Simplewall disables SMB and vulnerable ports by default, and you can use it to turn off vulnerable services like netbios

Anyway, it's true, W7 can actually be pretty secure with just a few configs.

Many programs that don't work on Windows 7 also won't work on 2015 Windows 10 anyway.

I need to develop modern applications so no thanks, although I agree it would be the best OS if shit still worked on it.
