some design software
but is almost impossible to properly record audio in linux (aside from audacity) and still not proper VST wrapper yet

FL Studio works if you use an older version. Not ideal but it's something.

i use ardour + mixx with a midi keyboard. everything is held up together by jack. jack has no equivalent on windows/mac, and has the lowest latency if you're interested in live performing

wine is not an option for me, I was able to get rekordbox running in wine, but the latency makes it not usable.

You should give sunvox a try

It's a tad bit more complicated to use than your average daw, but when you get the hang of it, you'll be able to do complex and interesting stuff quite easily

Not to mention that it's free, and that there are a lot of good and free vsts created for it

Bitwig and REAPER work fine using non-Flatpak versions. I run them both using standard PieWire and it has served me well (finished a big release all on Linux).

Use Yabridge. Cracked Windows VSTs + DXVK work fine. u-he stuff has native support for Linux and CLAP is the way forward instead of Shekelberg's VST3 anyway.

You're wildly uninformed. There's several daws for Linux. Namely Bitwig, Reaper, Ardour and Harrison Mixbus to name a few. VST is also supported on Linux, you just need to find compatible ones. Check https://kx.studio/ for a collection of free software.

But then there's the question of free or other VSTs that can work in Linux.
Native Instruments should support Linux. They should be partly or fully there as their Maschine+ groovebox is undoubtedly running a custom Linux build.

I use VCV rack with ardour.
It supports a lot of VST, but the main purpose is to create your own VST by combining processing nodes.
Rack is foss, but it has some paid closed source plugins.
