It's IMPOSSIBLE to share your wifi connection by creating a hotspot on Linux.

That's just 3 clicks away on windows.

Yes, wifi cards usually can not run a hotspot and be a client at the same time.
Not even the ones built into wifi routers can, they simply have a second one, or third our fourth one for it.

This doesn't change the fact that you are a liar.

And KDE supports multiple wifi cards to be clear. KDE lets you have a hotspot and wifi and lets you manage it with sane buttons.

are you using /g/ as tech support?
It's doable, even with a GUI, using NetworkManager applet. I've done it.
However to directly share the very WiFi connection your chip is connected to, it should be supported by the said wifi chip which is not typical.

What exactly are you doing in Windows? Your Wifi chip (card) should support this niche feature
You can share your USB dongle connection with hotspot

In theory it could be supported on another wifi channel, however most chipsets only support one channel at a time.

to be fair, it's probably more common nowadays than not. i know my 2008 thinkpad's intel wifi doesn't support (at least with the linux driver), but my 2016 elitebook does, i know because i actually needed it for a very specific task. but since using a client device like a laptop as an access point is not something i would expect to be a feature, i would still check before buying

my current laptop does supports creating a hotspot (for some reason), so the current plan is as follows
