No, changing volume in software is always inferior to adjusting an analog potentiometer

If you have a hardware volume control, what should you do with the software volume controls? Set them to 100%?

If you output 16bit PCM at 50% you're really only outputting 15bit.
So you'll technically get the best audio quality at 100%.
I wouldn't worry about it too much though especially if you're outputting more than 16 bit.
Anonymous No.107153774 [Report]
>>107153749
Windows does internal processing with 32 bit FP, so 50% volume in a 16 bit signal is not outputting 15 bit sound.

contrarian clown
Anonymous No.107153826 [Report]
>>107153789
How is that contrarian?

Its just a fact, modern windows makes it a lot less relevant, but mathematically, reducing volume in software causes signal quality loss.

With windows 10/11 you generally don't need to care much, but if you want to have the best signal path, always keep software volume at 100% and adjust levels with an analog pot.

If you even have to TOUCH your Windows volume then you're doing it wrong.

Why in the world would a keyboard have light underneath the keys? Is this some zoomgroid fad?
Anonymous No.107153879 [Report] >>107153975
>>107153854
Anon, the keycaps themselves have transparent legends, so the light shines through and lights up the key legend in the dark.

It's common also common to have the key switch be transparent as well to help the LED light be more visible, you can have opaque plastics too, but you generally get a dimmer final light presentation.

These aren't even new, I had a corsair K70 RGB back in 2014. Over 11 years ago.

My previous keychron keyboard had an encoder that worked nicely but the knob was plasticky. I could turn it fast and it would drop volume fast.
This Akko 5075 I decided to "upgrade" to has a nice knob (heh) but if I turn it fast enough it will stop registering anything. Basically I have to go slow with it. It's dogshit. I regret my purchase.

Anonymous No.107156193 [Report]
I use it, but I feel like binding volume at F9-12 is almost the same thing.
>>107153200
It’s a bit easier if your audio gear is just beyond arm’s reach. Unfortunately, none of my gear has analog pots anymore, except for the guitar amp. Even my sound card uses a digital encoder now.

It infuriated me trying to abandon my G213 and K330 how many mechanicals lack basic media controls or volume buttons. Picked up an OG K95 for this sole purpose.

My keyboard is a Logitech K120 and it's the longest lived keyboard I've had out of five gaming keyboards full of gimmicks in the last 10 years.
My G203 is holding, but the moment it shits the bed I'm buying an M100 or a B100. Fuck gay and fake consumerism.

The DAC operates at 32 bit internally so software volume becomes a non issue
